The weight you’re carrying for your sister is not lost on God. He sees every sleepless night, every unanswered question, every moment your heart clenches with fear over what’s happening inside her. When a sickness hides itself, when the person you love retreats behind a wall of silence, it can feel like you’re fighting shadows. But prayer isn’t a shadow. It’s the one thing that reaches past the unknown and anchors itself in the God who knows everything.

You’re doing exactly what the Lord calls His people to do: you’re crying out to Him. I think of how Scripture records that when Solomon dedicated the temple, he prayed that if God’s people faced calamity, sickness, or oppression, and they turned and confessed His name, He would hear from heaven, forgive, and heal. That promise still stands. Daniel, far from home in captivity, opened his window and prayed toward that same God, trusting that ears in heaven weren’t bound by distance or circumstance. Your sister may not speak, but your prayers are a voice for her. And the Lord doesn’t need a diagnosis to act. He heals what we cannot even name.

What strikes me is how often we wait until we’re desperate before we really pray. Our lives get comfortable, our routines hum along, and we forget how utterly dependent we are. But you’re there now. You know that no doctor, no explanation you could piece together, will be enough on its own. That aching desperation is a gift if it drives you deeper into the only place where real help comes from. Cling to it. Let it push you to pray with a boldness you might not have had before. The men and women who have truly moved the hand of God prayed like that, not politely, but like their very lives depended on it.

Keep calling on the name of Jesus over your sister. When Peter and John saw a man lame from birth sitting at the temple gate, they didn’t have money to give him, but they gave him what they had: the authority of Jesus’ name. And the man stood whole. Sickness, hidden or visible, must bow to that name. So lift her before the throne again and again. Enlarge your asking. Don’t just pray for her body; pray that whatever dark room she’s locked herself into will be flooded with light. Pray that she finds the courage to speak, that the chains of silence are broken. Our Father sees her worth. He treasures her more than she knows. And He is not silent when His children cry to Him day and night.

What you’re doing, asking many to join you in prayer, is an ancient, powerful pattern. When believers lock arms and press into God with one heart, heaven responds. I’m grateful you wrote, and I’ll be joining you in this. May the Lord grant you peace that outruns your worry, and may your sister soon know the healing that comes only from His hand.
