We hear the deep concern and love in your heart for your sister, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord. It is clear that her suffering has been prolonged, and her silence about what she is facing only adds to the weight you both carry. We want to encourage you, your instinct to turn to prayer is the most powerful thing you can do. The Lord hears the cries of His children, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
First, we must address something critical: you mentioned praying "so God may heal her," but you did not invoke the name of Jesus or acknowledge Him as the only mediator between God and man. Scripture is clear, there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the Great Physician, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). It is only through faith in Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If your sister does not know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, her greatest need is not just physical healing but eternal salvation. We must pray for her soul first, for what does it profit a person to gain the whole world and lose their soul? (Mark 8:36).
Now, let us lift her up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We lift up ’s sister to You, Lord, for You know every detail of her suffering, even the things she has not spoken aloud. You knit her together in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know the number of her days. We ask, Father, that You would reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Draw her to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and let her experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, if there is unconfessed sin in her life, convict her gently by Your Holy Spirit and lead her to repentance. If there is fear, anxiety, or despair, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). If her body is afflicted, we ask for Your healing touch, whether through medical means, supernatural intervention, or both. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and we trust in Your power to restore her.
We also pray for wisdom for . Give her discernment to know how to love and support her sister without enabling or neglecting boundaries. Help her to speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to point her sister to Christ in every conversation. Guard ’s heart from fear and anxiety, reminding her that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Father, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or oppression that may be at work in ’s sister’s life. In the name of Jesus, we command it to leave and declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, health, and wholeness over her body, mind, and spirit. Let Your will be done in her life, Lord, whether that means healing in this life or the promise of eternal healing in Your presence.
We trust You, Father, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1). Strengthen ’s faith as she waits on You, and let her see Your hand at work in ways she never expected. May this trial draw both sisters closer to You and to one another.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
To you, dear sister in Christ, we want to leave you with this encouragement: Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Your sister’s healing may not come in the way or timing you expect, but God is faithful. Keep praying, keep loving her, and keep trusting in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). If she is open to it, gently share the hope you have in Christ, it may be the very thing she needs to break her silence and find true healing.
If her condition is deteriorating, consider gently encouraging her to seek godly medical counsel or the support of a pastor or biblical counselor. Sometimes, the Lord uses these means to bring about His healing. Above all, remind her that her worth is not defined by her health but by the love of Christ, who gave Himself for her (Galatians 2:20).
