We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. Your pain and fear are not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who promises in Psalm 34:18-19, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We must also gently remind you that our trust in God is not rooted in the expectation that He will never let us down, but in the certainty that He is always good, even when our circumstances are not. The Lord does not promise an absence of suffering, but He does promise His presence in it. Isaiah 43:2 assures us, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not scorch you." Cling to this truth, dear one: He is with you, even now.

Let us pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find salvation (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Him, we urge you to consider the words of Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the foundation upon which we build our hope in every trial.

Father God, we come before You with hearts broken for our brother/sister who is suffering. Lord, You see their pain, their fear, and their weariness. We ask that You would pour out Your healing touch upon their body, mind, and spirit. Strengthen them where they are weak, comfort them where they are afraid, and remind them of Your unfailing love. Help them to trust in You, not just for deliverance from this trial, but for the grace to endure it with faith. Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. We rebuke the spirit of despair and declare that hope in You will not be disappointed, for You are faithful to Your promises. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Do not lose heart, beloved. The enemy would love for you to believe that God has abandoned you, but we declare that lie defeated in Jesus’ name. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, for He is your healer, your strength, and your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Reach out to fellow believers for support, and continue to seek the Lord in prayer and His Word. You are deeply loved, and your life has purpose in His kingdom. We will continue to stand in the gap for you, trusting that God will move mightily on your behalf.

We’re so glad you reached out. When your health is in a terrible place, it’s completely natural to fear being let down, even by God. That feeling doesn’t surprise Him, and it doesn’t push Him away.

We’re holding you in prayer right now, and we want you to know that simply knowing others are praying can be a steady comfort. Many people in hard seasons have told us that the most strengthening thing was hearing those four words: β€œI’m praying for you.” Carry that with you today. We’re one of many who will be doing exactly that.

If you can, share this burden with someone you trust in person, a friend, a pastor, a prayer partner in your church. Having someone sit with you and pray aloud, even briefly, can make God’s presence feel nearer when your own words run dry. And while we pray, we hope you’re also continuing to work closely with a doctor you trust, so that all the practical help God provides through medicine is part of your care.

Let us pray with you now:

Father, thank You that this person is not alone. You see the fear and the physical misery, and You are not distant. Please give deep peace that goes beyond what a body can produce. Grant strength for this moment and wisdom for everyone involved in their care. Surround them with Your faithful presence, and let them feel held even when the illness screams loudest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You speak of a terrible condition of health, and your heart cries out, "Pray that God doesn't let me down." That cry itself is a prayer, and it reaches the ear of the Lord who is very pitiful and of tender mercy. I do pray for you, but let me also speak a word that may lift your eyes from the fear of disappointment to the certainty of divine faithfulness.

It is no small thing to feel the frailty of the flesh and to tremble at the brink of the grave. The fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, yet it is not necessary for the saint. Our Lord Jesus Christ came to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. If you are in Christ, even this present sickness works for your good; the leaves of the Tree of Life are for healing, and the touch of the Great Physician is not shortened. Remember, a true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death is a prevailing prayer. Even if you think your plea is selfish, broken, or stained with weakness, it is heard. The Lord does not cast out those who come to Him crying for mercy.

You fear being let down, but God cannot deny Himself. He has never failed one trembling soul who cast itself wholly upon His promise. At our prayer meetings, I have heard saints with decades of trial testify that they never found one divine promise to fail. The Lord is your light and your salvation; whom shall you fear? If He seems to delay, it is that He may empty you of all human confidence and draw you to the prayer of humility, "I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies." When you are brought low, then Christ is made perfect through suffering in your own experience, and His strength is displayed in your weakness.

Do not measure the ocean of divine love by your small thimble of understanding. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and He delights to meet you in the depth of your need. Pour out your complaint before Him, and then, having prayed, breathe out praise, for the two go together like inhaling and exhaling. He who forgives all your iniquities also heals all your diseases, whether in body or in soul. Lay hold of Him, and you shall find that even if the outward man perishes, the inward man is renewed day by day. I will join my prayers with yours, trusting that the God of Jacob will not fail you, but will appear in brightness at the darkest hour.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your suffering is not proof that God has let you down. Consider the Captain of your salvation, who was made perfect through sufferings. If He who now holds all things in subjection endured the cross and death, how much more do we, who are His, share in the fellowship of His afflictions? This is the very work of salvation, not doing evil, but patiently suffering evil with faith, so that the power of His resurrection may be known in you.

Do not imagine that your illness is a sign of His absence. He who was daily teaching and healing did not spare Himself from the greatest shame, that the Scriptures might be fulfilled. In the same way, He permits trials to perfect your trust. We see Jesus, for a little while lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death. If you are becoming conformed to His death, endure; through faith you will comprehend the power of His resurrection, for if we suffer with Him we shall also reign with Him.

Prayer does not demand that God act according to our timing. He knows the due season for comfort. In the meanwhile, let love, which is not puffed up but kind, rule your heart. Cast out fear. The tempter would shake you, making you doubt His care, but stand firm. Grace works in you even now. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

We entreat the Lord to bless your coming in and your going out, and to grant you patience. You are not forgotten.

Your request brings to mind the raw, honest cry of the psalms where a hurting heart pleads with God and then speaks to itself, β€œHope thou in God, for I shall yet praise him who is the health of my countenance and my God.” That little word "yet" sits right in the middle of your trouble. Right now, your health feels like it has crumbled, and the fear that God might let you down is pressing in hard. But the "yet" points forward to a time when you will look back and praise Him, even for what you are enduring this very moment.

That kind of trust is forged in the fire, and it is never more real than when it makes no sense to our natural understanding. It is easy to trust God when He works out everything according to our timeline and our desires. When healing comes quickly and problems vanish, our faith can feel strong. But is that really trust? The deeper test comes when the mountains seem to be carried into the midst of the sea and nothing around you is stable. God places us in situations we do not understand to see if our trust is truly anchored in Him, or only in the favorable outcomes He gives. Your health crisis is such a place. Do you only trust Him when things are rosy, or will you trust Him when it gets tough and you cannot trace His hand?

It would be a mistake to interpret your circumstances as a sign that God is broke, weak, or has abandoned His post. He is not scrambling to solve a crisis. Lean not on your own assessment of the situation, because your own understanding is limited and clouded by pain. The fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, means standing in reverential awe of a God who is wise, merciful, and faithful. You can trust His counsel completely. He has given you His word as a testimony of what He has done for His people in the past, delivering them not by their own strength but by His mighty hand. If He could make a way through a sea when there was no way, He can make a path for you through this illness, whether that means physical restoration or the supernatural grace to walk through it.

When the psalmist said, β€œGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” he concluded, β€œtherefore we will not fear.” He did not say the trouble would vanish instantly. He said that in the middle of the catastrophe, God’s presence is the help. Right now, your heart is fixed on your failing body, and that is filling you with fear. But if your trust is in the Lord, your heart can be fixed on Him. You do not need to fear evil tidings because you know that, for those who love God, all things are working together for His good purposes. Your purpose, and the praise of His glory, is found in your trust in Jesus Christ.

Do not trust a circumstance or a coincidence to save you, and do not trust the arm of flesh, including the medical help you seek. Use those things gratefully, but put your ultimate trust in the Lord with all your heart. Because He is your God, you can be β€œabundantly satisfied” not just with a clean bill of health, but with the fatness of His house and a deep fellowship with Him that suffering strangely produces. Even if you were to live for many more years, you are not looking for a perfect utopia here. You are learning the providential care of God, who hovers over you as an eagle over her young. Keep turning your heart back to God in this battle, and when you cry out that you are slipping, do not forget Him when a small respite comes. Let your eyes stay on the Lord, who is the true health of your countenance and your God.
