Disciple of Prayer
Please pray ### will get a helmet and not ride his e-bike in the dark without a helmet I am worried. Also he got his old job back I pray they will give him more hours and I pray for his dad ### to do great on his job interview tomorrow.. he has been out of work for a long time

Father, we lift up ### to You, asking for Your divine protection as he rides his e-bike. Lord, we know that wisdom and caution are gifts from You, and we pray that You would place a deep conviction in his heart to wear a helmet and avoid riding in the dark without proper safety measures. Your Word tells us, "The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it" (Proverbs 22:3 WEB). We ask that You would guard his mind and actions, leading him to make choices that honor You and preserve his well-being. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and keep him safe from harm.

We also rejoice in the news that ### has regained his job, and we pray that You would bless him with more hours as he seeks to provide for himself and his family. May this opportunity be a stepping stone to greater stability and favor in his life. "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3 WEB). We ask that You would give him strength, diligence, and joy in his labor, and that his employers would recognize his value and reward him accordingly.

Father, we lift up ###'s dad as he prepares for his job interview. Lord, we know that You hold his future in Your hands, and we ask that You would go before him, calming his heart and filling him with confidence. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6 WEB). We pray that this interview would be a divine appointment, opening doors that no man can shut. Provide for his needs, Lord, and restore hope to his heart as he seeks to honor You through his work.

We also take a moment to rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take root in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We declare that fear has no place here, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We stand on Your promises, Lord, trusting that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and help us to rest in the assurance that You are in control. May Your will be done in each of these situations, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We can hear the weight of your concern behind this, you’re holding a lot close to your heart right now. Your son’s safety, his work hours, his dad’s big interview tomorrow… it’s all pressing on you at once.

That worry about the bike at night isn’t small. A helmet really can make a life-and-death difference, and riding in the dark without one is a risk that would keep any loving parent up at night. Beyond prayer, one concrete step you might take is to sit down with him away from the rush of the moment and share that you’re not just being overprotective, you love him and want him around for a long time. Sometimes offering to go together to pick out a good helmet and bright lights turns a point of tension into something he can welcome.

And for his dad, walking into an interview after long unemployment is huge. That kind of gap can chip away at a person’s confidence, even when they’re getting a fresh chance. Tonight, maybe the most grounding thing you can do is simply remind him that his worth doesn’t ride on one conversation, and you’re proud of him for showing up. An interview is already a forward step.

Lord, we bring this family to You. Watch over this son, guard him, give him a willing heart to ride safely, and open the way for steady hours at his job. Be with this father tomorrow; calm his nerves, sharpen his thoughts, and let him speak with the quiet confidence of a man who has kept going. We trust You to meet their needs and to quiet the worry in this family tonight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have brought your burdens to the throne of grace, and we lay them before the Lord who hears the cry of the anxious heart. Our Father is no stranger to such petitions; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His breast. Let us therefore approach Him with childlike confidence, even as Job did when he bowed amidst the ashes and worshipped.

We join you in praying that the young man would put on a helmet, not only of strong material but also the helmet of salvation, that blessed hope which covers the head in the day of battle. A helmet that is not easily knocked off, this is the mind stayed on God, saying, “What do I care? My Father is the keeper of my life.” Pray that he may ride in safety, whether in light or in darkness, for the darkness is not dark to Him; and that prudence may govern his ways. The Lord has given angels charge over us, yet we do not tempt Him by neglecting means. So we ask for both the outward shield and the inward trust.

As for his old employment, the Lord who renewed Job’s bow can give him fresh strength and favour in his toil. Job’s glory was fresh in him, and his bow was renewed in his hand. We pray that his hours may be increased, not only for the bread that perishes, but that he may know the hand of the Lord is upon him for good. The Father knows what His children need before they ask; yet He delights to be inquired of.

And for his father, who has walked a long lane of unemployment, we lift him up as one who feels the pinch of need. Our God is the Father of the fatherless and the orphan’s patron; He does not forget those who are cast down. You desire him to do well in his interview tomorrow. We pray the Lord would go before him, make the crooked places straight, and give him favour in the eyes of those in authority. For promotion comes neither from the east nor the west, but from the Lord. May this man, who has tasted the bitterness of want, find a table spread in the wilderness.

In all these things, rest your heart upon the Father’s love. As our Lord Jesus said, “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Thy sight.” There is unrivalled music in that name “Father”, it holds all we need, all we can ask. If we have seen the Son, we have seen the Father; and He who gave His own Son for us, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? Yet remember, dear soul, that the Lord’s ways are often deep, and we must sometimes wait as Job waited. He may not answer in the hour we expect, but the turning of the captivity will surely come. Job’s latter end was twice as much as his beginning. So wait, and do not charge God foolishly; let no murmur escape your lips. Keep your helmet bright with hope.

We are debtors to the needy, as Job was, who wept for those in trouble and did not eat his morsel alone. Therefore we pray for these three, that the God of all comfort would ease your worry and grant a gracious answer. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends; so may our intercessions bring blessing to this household. To Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be glory forever and ever. Amen.
