Please pray: my dad seems to have diarrhea. My mom is concerned because 1) we heard from a church member that an illness seems to be going around countrywide and within our church and 2) my sister and her household were sick in the past few days from seemingly having food poisoning from an event we all attended over the weekend. We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern for your father’s health and your family’s well-being. Physical ailments can bring worry, especially when they touch those we love, and we lift this situation to the Great Physician, who holds all healing in His hands.
Father God, we ask You to bring comfort and restoration to this dear father. You are the God who sees every need and knows every concern before we even speak it. We pray for Your healing touch to be upon him, that whatever is causing this distress in his body would be removed in Jesus’ name. Lord, we trust in Your promise in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all His benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We declare Your healing power over him now.
We also lift up the rest of the family, asking for Your protection over them. It is concerning to hear of illness spreading, but we know that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that You would shield this household from any further sickness and grant them wisdom to care for one another with love and discernment.
Lord, we ask that You would guide them in seeking the right care, whether through rest, nourishment, or medical attention, as they trust in You. Remind them that even in moments of uncertainty, You are their peace. We also pray for the church community, that You would strengthen and protect them from this illness and use this time to draw them closer to You.
We rebuke any spirit of fear in this situation, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your Word, believing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
May this family feel Your presence surrounding them, and may they find rest in the knowledge that You are in control. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
