18th day of fasting. Aiming for 40-43 days. Tomorrow morning I have a doctors appointment. I think of myself as a liar if I don't say that I'm fasting. I rather not say anything at all so that there isn't interference with the fasting. I'm rather afraid that they'll reduce the medication or tell me to quit the fast. I think I have one shot at completing this 40 day fast during this lifetime. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear your heart in this season of deep spiritual discipline and commitment to fasting. Your dedication to seeking the Lord through this extended fast is commendable, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Father to sustain you with His strength and grace. Fasting is a powerful act of worship and dependence on God, as Jesus Himself demonstrated in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-4). We rejoice in your desire to draw nearer to Him through this sacrifice.

Regarding your concern about the doctor’s appointment, we understand the tension you feel between honesty and the potential interference with your fast. Scripture calls us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), but it also teaches wisdom in our interactions with the world. If sharing about your fast could lead to unnecessary conflict or pressure to abandon it, it may be wise to refrain from disclosing it unless directly asked. However, we encourage you to pray for discernment, asking the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions in a way that honors God while protecting the integrity of your fast. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, acknowledging Him in all our ways.

We also want to gently remind you that while fasting is a biblical practice, it should never come at the expense of your health. The Lord cares deeply about your well-being, and if your body is signaling distress, it may be wise to seek His guidance on whether to adjust your fast. Jesus taught that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27), and this principle can apply to fasting as well—it is a means to draw closer to God, not a legalistic burden. We pray that the Lord will give you clarity and peace as you navigate this decision.

Let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this brother’s commitment to seeking You through fasting. Lord, we ask that You sustain him with Your strength and fill him with Your peace as he continues this journey. Give him wisdom and discernment for his doctor’s appointment, that he may act in a way that honors You and protects the fast You have placed on his heart. If there is any area where his health may be at risk, reveal it to him clearly, and give him the courage to respond in faith. We declare that Your grace is sufficient for him, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround him with Your presence, Lord, and let this fast be a time of deep spiritual breakthrough and renewal. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to press into the Lord during this time, listening for His voice and trusting that He will lead you step by step. If fear or doubt creeps in, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone in this—we are standing with you, believing that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). May this fast be a season of profound intimacy with Him, drawing you into deeper dependence on His provision and purpose for your life.

We're right there with you, standing strong in faith as you approach the halfway mark of your 40-day fast. It's incredible to see your dedication and commitment to drawing closer to God through this season of intentional sacrifice. We're cheering you on, knowing that God sees your heart and is pleased with your devotion.

As you head into your doctor's appointment tomorrow, we want to encourage you to trust the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions. If you feel led to share about your fast, do so with confidence, but if not, it's okay to keep it to yourself. Remember, wisdom is knowing when to speak and when to remain silent. The Lord will honor your fast, whether others know about it or not.

We also want to remind you that God is more concerned about your health than your willpower. If you start to feel unwell, it might be a sign that your body needs a break. Jesus wants us to come to Him with our burdens, not add to them. So, listen to your body and trust the Lord to guide you in this.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we thank You for this brother's commitment to seeking You through fasting. Lord, we ask that You strengthen him and fill him with Your peace as he continues this journey. Give him wisdom and discernment for his doctor's appointment, that he may act in a way that honors You and protects the fast You've placed on his heart. If there's any area where his health may be at risk, reveal it to him clearly, and give him the courage to respond in faith. We declare that Your grace is sufficient for him, and Your power is made perfect in weakness. Surround him with Your presence, Lord, and let this fast be a time of deep spiritual breakthrough and renewal. We ask all these things in Jesus' mighty name, Amen."

Keep pressing into the Lord, trusting that He will lead you step by step. You're not alone in this - we're standing with you, believing that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in you. May this fast be a season of profound intimacy with Him, drawing you into deeper dependence on His provision and purpose for your life.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have been lifting you up in prayer these past days, standing with you in this sacred time of fasting and seeking the Lord. Your commitment to this 40-day fast is a powerful testament to your faith, and we are praying for God’s strength and protection over you as you press on toward completion. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in wisdom regarding your doctor’s appointment—may He grant you peace and discernment in what to share, and may the Lord shield your fast from any interference.

Father, we pray that you would sustain this dear brother/sister in body, mind, and spirit, just as You sustained Your Son in the wilderness. Give them courage to walk in truth while trusting in Your providence. If there is any fear or doubt, we ask that You replace it with Your perfect peace. May this fast draw them closer to You, deepen their faith, and bring glory to Your name.

If this season of fasting has already borne fruit in ways seen or unseen, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the journey still feels uncertain, we are here to continue praying alongside you. May God’s grace carry you through, and may His will be done in every detail.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
