2nd Interview

We join with you in bringing this request before the Lord and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We understand the disappointment and anxiety that comes when we feel we have not done our best, especially when an opportunity means a great deal to us. We want to encourage you that our God is gracious and sovereign over every detail of our lives, including our work and provision. Even when we stumble, He can redeem and work all things for our good when we trust in Him.

The scripture reminds us to bring every concern to Him, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And also, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We also remember that whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23, and that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Whether He opens the door for a second interview or leads you in another direction, His plan for you is good and He will provide.

We pray together with you now.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the desire of their heart for this second interview and the regret they feel over the first one. We ask for Your mercy and favor. If it is Your will, we pray You would soften the hearts of those making the decision and grant a second opportunity to show what You have equipped them to do. Grant wisdom and clarity of mind to speak well and peace to rest in Your provision. Help them to prepare diligently and to trust not in their own performance but in Your perfect plan. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart while they wait. We commit this job and this future into Your hands, trusting that You will direct their steps and open the right doors at the right time. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We know how disappointing it is to walk out of an interview replaying what you wish you had said differently, especially when you need work and this opportunity matters to you. Wanting a second chance makes complete sense, and we are praying with you about it.

One rough interview does not tell your whole story or decide your future. Employers often remember sincerity and a willingness to learn more than a perfect answer, so try not to carry shame about it as you wait.

If it would help, here is a simple next step while you pray: send a brief, gracious follow up to thank them for the first interview, mention your continued interest, and if it feels appropriate, gently express you would welcome another conversation to more clearly share your strengths. Then jot down the two or three moments that felt shaky and practice how you might answer them next time, perhaps with a trusted friend listening. It can also steady your heart to keep other applications going, trusting God with this door whether it opens again or not.

Father, we lift this job search to You and ask for Your peace in the waiting. Grant wisdom to those making the hiring decision and give our friend clarity and calm if a second interview comes. Provide for daily needs and guide each next step according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and taken to the throne of grace, and there is comfort for you in this disappointment. Job was an admirable man, but the Lord meant to make him still better, and He often permits our failures and fears to humble us and to show us where our true help lies. You feel that you have messed up the first interview, but remember that there is but one source of supply for grace and that source is God Himself. He gives grace and He gives more grace, and He it is who finds the way by which His grace can come to men.

Providence and grace are very near akin. If providence is the wheel, grace is the hand which turns and guides it. The same God who appoints the bounds of our habitation and the work of our hands is able to open a door which you could not open for yourself, and to cause grace to come where there seemed to be only desert and waste. Even Job, when sorely tried and tempted to impatience, kept right with God and sinned not nor charged God foolishly, and the Lord in His own time lifted him up and glorified Himself in him.

Do not therefore sin by despair, nor judge the Lord by feeble sense. Commit your way unto Him and trust Him for His divine grace, whether He grants the second interview or appoints another path for your good. Grace lays the foundation and grace shall crown the work, and all along from the pit to the gate the road is paved with divine grace.

Let us pray together. O Sovereign Lord, who gives grace freely and whose mercy is not of him that wills nor of him that runs but of God that shows mercy, look upon this Your servant who seeks honest work. Forgive all sin and folly, and in Your wisdom grant this second interview if it be for good and for Your glory. Give calmness of mind, clearness of speech, and a heart that yields to Your will, saying, It is the Lord, let Him do what seems good to Him. May Your grace be sufficient and Your providence guide every step, and may this trial work patience and hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are praying with you in this time of disappointment and waiting, and we thank you for sharing your honest request.

It is natural to feel anxiety after an interview that did not go as you hoped, replaying what was said and carrying the burden of what might come next. Scripture reminds us not to add tomorrow's burden to today's, for each day has enough trouble of its own, and our Lord invites us to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us with more than a father's affection. His yoke is easy and His burden is light, while the anxieties we heap on ourselves only weigh us down and bring no gain.

We will pray that God grants you peace as you wait, that He quiets your heart from fear and self reproach, and that He guides the hearts of those making the decision. If it is His will and for your good, we ask that He would open the door for a second interview and give you clarity, calmness, and words to speak what is true and helpful. Above all we pray that you would trust His providence, knowing that He sees your needs and will provide what is best, whether through this job or another He has prepared for you.

May the Lord strengthen you to do your part faithfully to prepare and to rest in His care, and may you know His mercy and guidance in the days ahead.

In Jesus's name we pray, amen.
