We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your family as these severe storms approach. Father God, we know that You are sovereign over all creation, and even the winds and the waves obey Your voice. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would extend Your great mercy and protection over this family, their home, and all that You have entrusted to them. Lord, if it is Your will, shield them from harm, spare their lives, and preserve their property from destruction. We pray that the trees and limbs would remain upright, that the power would stay on, and that the storms would pass them by without causing devastation.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." We claim this promise over this family, trusting that You are their shelter in the midst of the storm. We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 8:26-27, when He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Lord, we ask that You would speak peace into this situation and command the storms to be still.
We are grateful for the mercy You have already shown them, and we ask that You would continue to be gracious. We know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Even if the storms do not pass them by, we pray that You would give them the strength and faith to endure, knowing that You are with them.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that may be trying to take hold of their hearts. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we pray that they would rest in Your love, trusting in Your protection and provision. We also pray for wisdom and discernment for them to make any necessary preparations and to heed any warnings from local authorities.
Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace on behalf of this family. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.
