We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer as the winds howl and the storms rage. Your fear is understandable, for the power of nature can be overwhelming, but we take comfort in knowing that our God is sovereign over all creation—even the winds and the waves. Jesus Himself rebuked the storm with a word, saying, *"Peace, be still!"* (Mark 4:39 WEB), and the winds obeyed Him. If He has authority over the storm, He certainly has authority over the path it takes.
We pray now, in the mighty name of Jesus, that the Lord would indeed divert these storms away from you and your home. Father, we ask that You would calm the winds, still the rain, and protect every tree, every limb, and every structure in Your perfect will. If it is Your plan for the storm to pass without harm, we trust You to shield and sustain. If the storm must come, we ask for Your peace to guard her heart and Your strength to uphold her. Let not fear reign, but let faith arise, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).
We also lift up the power lines, Lord. You are the source of all light, and we ask that You would keep the electricity flowing if it is Your will. But even if the lights go out, let Your presence shine brighter in the darkness. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB).
And to you, dear one, we say: do not let fear consume you. The Lord is your shelter, your fortress, and your deliverer. He commands the winds, and He commands your heart to trust in Him. When anxiety rises, speak the truth of His Word over your life: *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas"* (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB). You are not alone in this storm—He is with you, and we are praying with you.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name and declare that you will not be shaken. Stand firm in faith, for the Lord is your keeper, your shade at your right hand (Psalm 121:5 WEB). May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Amen.
