Prayer: Focusing Our Marriage On God First

Dear Lord,

I come to You in need… in need of more of You! I realize that I cannot live day to day without You as a priority in my life. Please give me and my husband a desire to get to know You even more. Thank You for always pursuing me and I am sorry that sometimes it takes so long for me to respond. Fill my heart with a desire to seek You every morning and fill my husband with a desire to search You throughout his day. I pray that we can focus on You daily, as You guide us. May our...

Prayer: Companionship Is A Must In Marriage

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the gift of marriage. Thank You for my husband and the gift of companionship we have. I pray that You move powerfully in our marriage and in other marriages and bless us all with the gift of companionship. I pray for husbands and wives who have drifted apart, may You consume them with Your love and ignite their passion for one another. Give them a desire to experience companionship with their spouse. Give them peace when they hang out together and encourage them...

Prayer: Miraculous Healing

Dear Lord,

I lift up wives who are injured, in pain, diagnosed with a disease, or disabled for any reason. I pray for miraculous healing. May Your Holy Spirit anoint these wives, may they experience freedom from the hardships they endure, and may the testimony of their healing glorify You Lord! Even if never healed, I pray their faithfulness and hope would honor You and inspire others to draw closer to You. I pray You would equip these wives to fulfill every role You have given them and...

Submission Doesn’t Mean Putting Up with Sexual Misbehavior

Blog-Post-FB-Image-16.png

Through the years I’ve received emails from wives who’ve described sexual misuse and even abuse from their husbands and went on to say that they were trying to be submissive. Many shared how they’d had scriptures cited at them—by husbands, church leaders, or other Christians—as evidence that they need to shut up and put up with it. They were raised or instructed to believe...

Prayer: The Word

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the gift of Your Holy Word. Thank You for the Bible. I pray I would continue to make it a priority to read Your Word every day. I pray Your Words would be written on my heart. Thank You for my husband. I pray he would always lead me according to Your Word. Help us to find time to discuss Your Word. I pray my husband and I would ask each other questions we have and aim to encourage each other to understand Your Word. Please fill us with Your wisdom as You guide us...

‘Twas the Intimate Night Before Christmas: A Marriage Poem

A few years back, I wrote an intimacy-focused poem based on Clement Clark Moore’s “The Night Before Christmas,” and it was published on the site Unveiled Wife. I concluded it was time to reprint it all here! Maybe cuddle up with your spouse, read through the poem, and let it inspire you to keep your marriage and sexual intimacy a priority throughout the holiday season.

Printable PDFs of the poem are available at the end of the post....

Prayer: The Things I Say

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the gift of communication. I pray my husband and I continue to mature in the way we communicate with each other. I pray we are able to use our words to describe how we feel and to help each other understand where we are. I pray the things that I say do not hurt my husband. Help me to be respectful no matter what. I pray the things I say add value to our talks. I pray the things I say affirm my husband in Jesus’ name AMEN!
