Dear stander, you have been chosen by Our Heavenly Father according to His will and purpose for your life. Your prodigal spouse is an integral part of God’s will for your life and family. You are on assignment to stand in the gap for your loved ones and to pray God’s will in and over their lives. Once I understood that my only chance of marriage restoration was to be totally in God’s will, I began to enjoy the privilege of standing for the salvation of my entire family. As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15) When we experience the death of our covenant marriage, it seems natural to make burial plans. This, to the world, is part of the process of dealing with the loss. But God told me I am not of the...
LORD, DIRECT MY STEPS This is what the LORD says — your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.†Isaiah 48:17 Is your heart's cry today, “Lord, direct my steps! Please show me what You want me to do regarding my marriage? How do I handle my children and their behaviors? Everyone is telling me to divorce my spouse as the children will be better off than now. Lord, help me.†In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. Psalm 18:6 Will you seek God’s will for your marriage? Here is a prayer to pray on this Lord's Day: Lord, I praise...
HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.†Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 This passage is probably very familiar to you. Our Pastor has been preaching from Corinthians and recently, we found...
TEN THINGS ABOUT STANDING - Part 2 So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33 I want to continue to share with you the final points about standing from yesterday’s devotional. This could also be titled, “Why Stand?†These insights into standing with God and praying for marriage restoration His way are not a complete list, but they are, in my book, the top ten: 6. The dilemma of divorced and dating can be disastrous, but can be detoured. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their...
ONE MINUTE BEFORE MIDNIGHT by David Wilkerson | July 29, 2010 We see in 1 Samuel 13 that Saul faced a crucial moment that every believer must eventually confront. It is a time of crisis when we’re forced to decide whether we’ll wait on God by faith, or get impatient and take matters into our own hands. Saul’s pivotal moment came when ominous clouds of war were gathering over Israel. The Philistines had amassed a huge army of horsemen, iron chariots and legions of soldiers brandishing the latest weapons. By contrast, the Israelites had only two swords in their entire army—one for Saul and one for his son, Jonathan. Everyone else had to use makeshift weapons, such as wooden spears or crude farm tools. A week earlier Samuel...
I feel so defeated and uncertain of my future. The Lord says He will never give us more than we can handle. But I'm having a hard time believing that. I feel that this stress is weighing me down. The same mortal enemey continues to attack our family and put her own children in harm's way. I feel like there is no justice for it. I feel like nobody is standing up and saying "You WILL NOT do this anymore!" They just say "Don't do it. You're not allowed to." And yet she continues to choose violent and abusive men with gang affiliation and a history of drug abuse, and allow her children around them. And then when the kids' dad uses his status as the custodial parent to make the executive decision that they are not safe at her home, she...
I recently read and commented on a question that was posted on another site abou King David. The question was...King David was annointed by God but how did he still sin and struggle with lust? Good question.....My answer was Yes..he WAS annointed by God but he was still a Man and the flesh is weak. Because HE was annointed by God it was up to God to punish him. God did punish him but he aslo FORGAVE him and gave him another son. I look to this and say "Let God do the judging and punishing and he EVEN forgives. So many people these days want to condemn people and never forgive them and dont give them a second chance. They have to remember, in order to be forgiven you have to forgive
I just don't understand. I just can't comprehend how anyone cannot see the reality of our Father, the Creator. All you have to do is look around the world and see him. He is in the clouds and the blue skies. He is in the raindrops and the snow. He is in the sunshine and the birds as they sing. He is in the honey bees and the flowers. He is in the ocean and all the sea creatures, great and small. He is in the moon, the stars, the sun, all of the galaxies and planets. He is in the meadows, the streams, the animals, the rivers and the mountains. He is in the forests and the deserts. He is everywhere. Do we get so lost in our daily lives and material worlds that we get blind to it all?? There are those who actually believe it all happened...
Mar 4:3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. Mar 4:14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they...
