Bible Verse for Today

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

—Galatians 3:26-27 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

What are you wearing today? I hope you are clothed with Christ. Anything else is simply out of style by heaven's standards, no matter whose designer fashions you may be wearing. You can be clothed with Christ by surrendering your life to Jesus as your Savior through faith (Romans 13:14)...

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

—Daniel 3:25 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

I love the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:1-30). Their faith was solid and unwavering whether God chose to save them from the fire or not. God not only saved them, but those who intended to execute them became the key witnesses of their faith and God's...

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

—Galatians 3:24 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Galatians repeatedly reminds us that no law can make us righteous or save us, not even the Old Testament Law. However, the law (Torah) does several essential things.

• The law leads us to Christ, who fulfills and embodies what God intended for his law to do in his people (Matthew 5:17-20). Jesus shows us what God wants his...

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

—Ephesians 3:20-21 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

We have far greater power than we often realize. That incredible power is at work within us (Ephesians 1:18-19). This promise of power, however, is tied to two opportunities God gives us daily.

1. Ask...

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

—Romans 3:23-24 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

No matter how hard we try, how good we are, or how much we work, we can never measure up to the only standard that matters — the glorious perfection of Almighty God. Thankfully, God doesn't require us to pretend to be what we are not yet — perfect, spotless, and holy. Instead, God makes...

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

—Luke 3:22 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

God spoke these wonderful words to his Son when Jesus was baptized. God feels the same about us when we follow our Savior's example and are baptized! Jesus pours out his Spirit on us (Titus 3:4-7), guaranteeing that we are God's children (Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14)...

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.

—Romans 3:21-22 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

The Old Testament — the Tanakh — looks forward to a new time when law is not the basis of righteousness. The Law and Prophets testify to this time. This righteousness comes from God...

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

—Acts 3:19-20 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

When did you last catch yourself straying from a passionate walk with the LORD? Refreshing times come when we change our hearts and lives to turn our hearts toward Jesus and live for God in our daily lives! This is real...

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

—2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

"Transformed ... with ever-increasing glory." In other words, it's an ongoing process. The beauty of this truth is that with the continual help of the Holy Spirit, we're going to arrive at our goal — the Spirit is transforming us to become more and more like...

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

—Philippians 3:17 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Some critics of preaching and preachers say, "I would rather see a sermon any day than hear one." I'm not distressed because people want to "see a sermon." The life of those preaching should be consistent with what they preach. Some don't "practice what they preach," and their hypocrisy discredits the message of Christ in the...
