We join with you in lifting up ###'s brother before the throne of grace and we also lift up his close and extended family in this time of great need after his heart aorta surgery and complications.

We are moved by your desire to see this family united in love and peace, free from unforgiveness, selfishness and behaviors that use others rather than serve them. Scripture calls us to this kind of love. We are told to be diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace in Ephesians 4:3 and to put on love, which is the bond of perfection in Colossians 3:14. Where there has been madness, anger or selfishness, the Word rebukes it clearly, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you in Ephesians 4:31-32. We also remember Colossians 3:13, Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. A family cannot be a place of healing while holding onto unforgiveness, for as Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14-15, if we do not forgive others, our Father will not forgive us. We encourage this family to choose forgiveness, to esteem others better than themselves and to do nothing through rivalry or conceit, but in humility to bear one another's burdens as taught in Philippians 2:3-4 and Galatians 6:2. Love is patient and is kind, it does not envy or boast and seeks not its own way in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, and that is the love we pray will fill this home now.

We also pray earnestly for complete healing for this brother. Our God is the Great Physician who heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:3 and who heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We claim the promise in James 5:15 that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh.

We notice your request speaks of the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you and this family to call upon His name in faith.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your mercy and healing power upon ###'s brother. Touch his heart and his aorta, Lord, guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, and bring restoration where there have been complications. Command his body to heal and strengthen him day by day. We pray You would remove any infection, weakness or setback and grant him total healing according to Your will. Lord, we also pray for his family, close and extended. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon them. Remove all unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness and any spirit that would divide or use others for gain. Unite them in Your love, make them of one heart and mind in Christ, and help them to surround this brother with practical help, encouragement, prayer and tender care. Let this trial draw them closer to You and to each other, that they may glorify You through their unity and love. We trust You as our healer and our peace, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for them, to speak words of forgiveness and peace over the family, and to trust that God is working even in this difficult surgery and recovery for His good purposes in Romans 8:28.

Alongside prayer, we encourage you to stay closely connected to his medical team and follow their guidance for his recovery and any complications.

Father, we lift ###'s brother to You and ask for Your mercy over his body as he heals from this surgery. Give wisdom to his doctors and nurses, strength to his family, and guard this family in love, patience and unity. Help them to forbear with one another and to support him well in the days ahead. We have heard your burden for ###'s brother in his great trial of heart and aorta surgery and its complications, and for his close and extended family, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

There is a gracious conjunction in Scripture between forgiveness and healing, for it is written, The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, for the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity. We are reminded that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ, a word from His lips, a touch of His hand, brings healing to head and heart and conscience. What a mercy that there is forgiveness with God, and that with Him also is plenteous healing.

We pray that the Lord, who alone can give a new heart and put a right spirit within, will lay His healing hand upon ###'s brother. That He who numbers our heartbeats and notes every sigh would grant skill to those who care for him, guard him from further complication, and restore him to strength according to His perfect will. We ask that as he lies, as it were, before Jesus, he may know the Savior not only as Healer of the body but as Forgiver of sins through His blood shed upon the cross, for there is forgiveness with Him, and that forgiveness is complete and eternal for all who trust in Jesus Christ alone.

For the family we pray that the Lord will unite them in love and peace. Where there has been unforgiveness, that He would teach them to forgive even as they have been forgiven, freely and fully for Christ's sake. Where there has been selfishness or hardness of heart, that He would create a tender heart that perceives His presence and hears His voice. The Lord has shown us that an unforgiving tongue betrays an unrenewed heart, but where grace reigns, love covers and unity is kept in the bond of peace. May He drive out all that would divide and make this family to be of one mind in caring for their beloved sufferer, each esteeming the other better than themselves and serving in love.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness that You may be feared, look in mercy upon this brother in his weakness and upon all his kindred. Forgive sin for Jesus sake, cleanse every heart, and take away all bitterness and strife. Lay Your hand upon the sick one and raise him up if it be Your will, and cause his healing to declare Your goodness. Unite this family in holy love, that they may with one accord minister to him and comfort one another, and that in all things Your name may be glorified through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and continue to seek Him while He may be found, believing that there is forgiveness and there is healing with Jesus.

Your request for ###'s brother and his family has been received and I join my prayer to yours before the Lord.

We have asked God to lay His healing hand upon this brother after his heart aorta surgery and the complications that followed, that He would restore his strength, close what is wounded and bring him to full health according to His mercy. This house of prayer is a spiritual surgery where the wounds we receive outside may be healed, and we trust the Great Physician to do what human hands cannot.

We have also prayed for his close and extended family, that the Lord would unite them in genuine love and peace. Where there has been unforgiveness, that He would teach them to forgive as they have been forgiven, remembering that we all stand in need of forgiveness for much greater things and are called to a gentle and human soul. Where there has been selfishness or strife, that love would take its place, for love is the bond that makes faith and every other gift complete. May madness and every harmful pattern be put away, and may each member turn to help and support this brother with patience and kindness.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on this brother. Touch his heart and body, heal the effects of the surgery and remove every complication. Grant wisdom to those who care for him. Pour out Your Spirit upon his family, take away unforgiveness and division, and make them one in love, peace and humble service to one another, that they may surround him with the help he needs.
