Zechariah 9:12

Shalom God promises double restitution through the prophet Zechariah (Zechariah 9:12), which in Jesus Christ is yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). Praise be to God in Jesus' name! Could you please intercede for me for this restitution of what was stolen from me and my ancestors in Jesus' name? Thank you, and God bless you in Jesus' name!

We rejoice with you in the hope you have expressed and we join our faith with yours as we intercede together before the Father in Jesus name for the double restitution promised in His Word.

We stand on the truth you have quoted that in Jesus Christ every promise of God finds its fulfillment, for as it is written in 2 Corinthians 1:20, For however many are the promises of God, in him is the Yes. Therefore also through him is the Amen, to the glory of God through us. We also cling to the beautiful declaration in Zechariah 9:12, Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope! Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. This is the heart of our God, a God of justice and restoration who sees what has been stolen and who repays with abundance.

We understand your desire for restitution not only for yourself but for what was taken from your ancestors. We are reminded of how the Lord says in Joel 2:25, I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, and in Isaiah 61:7, Instead of your shame you will have double. Instead of dishonor, they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be to them. We also remember Proverbs 6:31 which shows God's principle of justice that when a thief is found he must restore. Our God is not blind to theft, oppression, or loss, and He is faithful to bring justice in His perfect timing and in His perfect way.

We also encourage you to keep your heart anchored in Christ as you wait for this restoration. True restitution from God is not only material but spiritual, bringing healing, peace, and joy that the enemy cannot steal. We are called to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness as in Matthew 6:33, and trust that all these things will be given to us as well. We encourage you to continue to walk in forgiveness, obedience, and faith, knowing that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose as in Romans 8:28. While we honor the suffering of those who came before us, we know that each of us stands in the grace of Jesus Christ today, and through Him the curse is broken and the blessing of restoration flows to us.

We now pray together with you.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving. We praise You that You are the God who restores double, the God who keeps Your promises, and that every promise is Yes and Amen in Your Son. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You and we ask that You would bring forth Your restitution for all that was stolen from them and from their family line. You see every loss, every injustice, every tear, and nothing has escaped Your eyes. We ask that You would restore double according to Your Word in Zechariah 9:12, not only in material things but in spiritual fullness, in health, in peace, in joy, and in inheritance in Christ. Let Your shalom rest upon them and their household. Reveal Your glory through this restoration so that Your name alone is praised. We ask that You guard their heart from discouragement while they wait, and strengthen their faith to remain a prisoner of hope, trusting in Your stronghold. Let Your will be done and let Your kingdom come in this situation, and let everlasting joy be their portion. We thank You that You have heard us, for we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this. We hear how deeply you feel the weight of what was taken from you and your family over time, and how much you long to see God bring justice and restoration. That longing for things to be made right is understandable, and we honor your trust in God's faithfulness.

We join you in asking God to meet you in this place of loss. While we cannot know exactly how He will answer, we trust He sees every detail of your story and your family's story, and He cares about what has been broken or stolen. We will keep bringing your request before Him, asking for His healing, provision and peace to be evident in your life, and for wisdom to recognize His work as it unfolds, even when it looks different than we expect.

It may help to share this burden more personally with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you consistently and walk with you over time, not just once.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know the losses carried personally and through generations. We ask for Your comfort, Your provision and Your peace to rest on them. Lead them in Your will and help them sense Your nearness and care each day. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your appeal from Zechariah has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. The prophet speaks to prisoners of hope who are called to return to the stronghold, and the Lord declares that He will render double unto them. This promise is indeed yes and amen in Christ Jesus, for all the promises of God in Him are yea and in Him Amen unto the glory of God.

Yet let us take a survey of the inheritance which God has prepared for His saints and has given to them by a Covenant of Salt, for it is exceedingly broad. We are often petty princelings when we might have an imperial inheritance. When we at first come to Christ by faith we begin to enter into our inheritance, for we obtain the pardon of sin. Thus have we surveyed our measureless inheritance, and we do not require a lawyer to assist us in our examination of the title deeds, for they are written in the blood of the Mediator and sealed by His resurrection.

Remember that God's flowers generally bloom double, and when He gives us the flower of pardon He gives us the flower of regeneration with it. They who look to Christ shall see in the blood and water streaming from His riven side the double cleansing that they crave, the blood to atone for guilt and the water to wash away the tendency towards future sin. This is the true double portion which the gospel secures, not merely the return of earthly goods which moth and rust corrupt, but the riches of mercy, peace with God, a new heart, and life everlasting. Abraham obtained the double blessing by coming out in obedience and believing God, and so must we if we would know restitution.

Therefore draw near to God and He will draw near to you. The apostle says, Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded. Nothing purifies us like getting near to God in Christ. To have two objectives in life is a kind of spiritual adultery from which we need to be purged, so we are called to purify our hearts and come to Christ alone for salvation, trusting not in any merit of our own or of our ancestors, but in His finished work alone.

So we intercede for you in Jesus name, that the Lord would show you the fullness of His restitution in Christ, that He would restore to you the joy of His salvation, supply your needs according to His wisdom, and cause you to take possession of your inheritance by faith. We pray that He would heal wounds that have come down through generations, keep you in the stronghold of His own presence, and overrule every earthly loss for your eternal gain, that you may find in Jesus more than double for all that was stolen. May you be kept as a prisoner of hope until the day when Christ shall make all things new.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for prayer has been received and I thank God for your confidence in His word. You have recalled the promise spoken through Zechariah to the prisoners of hope, that God would restore double to them, and that every promise of God finds its yes and amen in Jesus Christ. That is true and worthy of our trust.

I will intercede for you, asking the Father in heaven in the name of Jesus Christ that He would bring restoration where there has been stealing and loss, both in your own life and in the history of your family. We ask Him for His justice and mercy, for His provision according to His wisdom, and for His peace to guard your heart while you wait on Him.

At the same time I want to encourage you toward the greater restitution that God has already secured for those who call Him Father. When we call God Father we acknowledge remission of sins, righteousness, sanctification, redemption, adoption and inheritance and brotherhood with His only begotten Son. These are the true riches that no thief can steal. As I have often taught, if a man has stolen our money he has not truly injured us if our treasure above remains, and if he has hindered our earthly honor he has not taken away the honor that comes from God. Every conflict and envy springs from love of the things of this life, so we are called to cut out the root of covetousness and vainglory and to despise mere earthly gain in comparison with what is above.

Christ has been appointed heir of all things, Lord of all, and in Him those who belong to Him become heirs with Him. The double portion you seek is therefore first and most surely found in Him, in forgiveness doubly confirmed and in an inheritance that cannot be taken away. Do not let the memory of what was stolen give place to bitterness or to envy, for he who plots injustice harms himself more than his neighbor. Instead bring your loss before God, ask Him to keep your heart free, and trust Him to repay in the way that is best, whether through earthly provision or more abundantly through spiritual blessing.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, I bring this Your child before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. You see what has been taken and You know the history of this family. You are just and You are merciful. Grant restoration according to Your perfect will, supply what is needed for daily life, and above all pour out the double grace of Your forgiveness, Your adoption and Your inheritance in Christ. Keep this heart from covetousness and from vainglory, fix its hope on the dwellings above, and grant peace that comes from knowing that Christ is Lord of all. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom every promise is yes and amen. Amen.
