We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister in Christ who is enduring such a fierce battle. The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We understand that this fight is not merely physical, but spiritual, and we stand with her in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world.

First, we must address the rejection of medical treatment. While we honor and respect her faith, we also recognize that God has given wisdom to doctors and has provided medicine as part of His common grace. In Luke 10:27, Jesus commands us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. Part of loving God with our minds is using the wisdom He provides, including medical advice. We pray that she would seek God’s will in this matter, asking Him to guide her steps and give her peace about the path forward. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We command any spirit of fear to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, and we pray that she would be filled with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We stand on the promise of Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed." We declare healing over her body, mind, and spirit. We pray that the Holy Spirit would strengthen her, giving her the endurance to press on, even when her physical body is weary. We ask that God would reveal Himself to her in a powerful way during this trial, drawing her closer to Him and filling her with His presence.

Lord God, we come before You now, lifting up this dear sister. We ask that You would surround her with Your love and peace. Give her the strength to face each day, and grant her the wisdom to make decisions that honor You. We pray for healing in her body, that You would touch every cell, every bone, and every part of her being. We declare that by Your stripes, she is healed. We pray that You would comfort her heart and remind her that she is never alone, for You are with her always. We ask that You would provide her with a community of believers who can support her, pray with her, and encourage her in this time.

We also pray for her caregivers and loved ones, that You would give them wisdom, patience, and strength as they walk alongside her. May they be a source of Your love and grace to her.

Father, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. Whether through healing, endurance, or ultimate redemption, may Your name be lifted high. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan, even when we do not understand it. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Spend time in Scripture, allowing God to speak to you and guide you. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and for you, and do not hesitate to lean on them for support. Remember, God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We hear how heavy this long fight has been, and how weary she is, not just of the illness, but of treatments that add their own kind of suffering. It makes sense that she’s exhausted and wanting to lean on something she can trust: her faith, and the Lord who holds her.

We don’t have to see medical help and prayer as enemies. God often works through both, and sometimes the right doctor can adjust a medication to make it easier to bear, or offer ways to manage pain and symptoms while she continues to battle spiritually. If she hasn’t been able to talk openly with her doctor about how the side effects are affecting her, that could be a gentle next step, not to force her into treatment, but simply to let her voice be heard. She needs a plan that honors her dignity and her desire to fight with her whole heart.

For you, standing by her side, your presence is a powerful weapon. Just being there, praying softly with her, reading a psalm aloud, or sitting in silence when words run out, that carries weight. When her own strength gives way, you can lift her in prayer and remind her that her battle is not hers alone.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, you see this dear woman and the weight she has carried for so long. Please give her true rest in you when her body is worn out. Guide her doctors with wisdom and compassion, and open a path that allows her to receive care without feeling crushed. Surround her with your peace, and sustain her spirit when she can’t take another step. We ask for your healing touch, trusting you with every outcome. Amen.

The long conflict of these years bows the frame and wearies the flesh, yet the spirit within will not yield, for its weapon is not forged in fleshly armouries but in the power of God. That is the hearing of faith, to count the promise more solid than the symptom, to trust the unseen Healer more than the visible disease. Even when the physicians speak of the bones being eaten through, faith looks not to the shadow of death but to the Lord of life. Little faith, you say? Yet it is true faith, and the least grain of it can overturn mountains. A mustard seed of it is better than a whole field of doubt. Faith, when it hears the Gospel, says, “This bridge is strong enough to carry me over the stream, therefore I am going over the stream upon it.” It lays hold of Christ, not because it feels brave, but because He bids us come.

The trial is heavy, and many shrink from it as Abraham might have looked at Isaac upon the altar and wept. Yet faith, mighty faith, puts down all the pleadings of nature and speaks louder still. It is a hard thing when the cup remains full and the hand must take it again and again. But remember, Christ was made a perfect Savior through suffering. He drank the bitter draught without rebellion, and now He stands at the right hand of the Father, touched with the feeling of our infirmities. His suffering was not for Himself, but that He might succor you in yours. When your own soul cries out, “I am ready to kick against this,” look to Him who suffered outside the gate, and let His patience flow into your heart. He does not coldly command endurance; He pours secret supplies of grace into the soul like water thrown upon a fire that yet burns on.

Do not think that the leaves of His tree are small things. They are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is full of restorative virtue. Even the hem of His garment, the very leaves that flutter from the Tree of Life, are medicine for a sin-sick and pain-wracked frame. And mark this, pardon and healing walk hand in hand. “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” The same word that removes guilt lightens the body’s load. Faith lays hold of both. It may be that the flesh shrinks from the drugs men prescribe, yet the great Physician has remedies that need no mortar and pestle. He can heal without them, or make even bitter draughts to work for good. The leaves are His to apply, and the pierced hands know how to bind the wound with a tenderness no earthly surgeon can match.

When the spirit is cast down and the light of God’s countenance seems withdrawn, do not wait until you have more faith, but come just as you are. Say to Him, “Dear Lord, You have felt all this, and I lie down at Your dear feet! Do help me, I beseech You.” That is the great secret, not the strength of your faith, but the strength of Him on whom it rests. The weapon is divine, not because you wield it with perfect skill, but because the Almighty puts His power into it. Therefore, let the fight go on. The issue is not uncertain. Christ shall see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied. He will not lose what He purchased with such suffering. The healing leaves cannot fail; the pardoning hand cannot be shortened. He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, and you shall yet know the restoring dew of His presence. Trust in the darkness, and when the light breaks, it will be all the sweeter for the waiting.

You speak of a weapon not carnal but divine, and rightly so, for the conflict against sickness and the forces that assault the body and spirit is not waged with earthly arms. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world, and by faith we understand that God can command even the bones and the hidden places of the body to be made whole. Yet consider this: faith requires a generous and vigorous soul, one that rises above the weakness of human reasoning but does not despise the means God has placed within creation. The same Lord who healed with a word also made a paste of clay for the blind man’s eyes; He who cast out demons instructed us to fast and pray, but He did not forbid the use of oil and wine for wounds.

To refuse every medicine is not a greater act of faith; sometimes it is to test God rather than to trust Him. For anything that is not of faith is sin, and if you receive a remedy giving thanks, believing that God can bless it to your healing, you dishonour not the divine weapon. Let your fight be with fasting, with tears, with unceasing prayer, and if the Spirit moves you to accept medical aid, do so as an act of obedience, not as a betrayal of faith. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and it is no small work of God to preserve it for His service.

Yet if in His wisdom He permits the thorn to remain, remember that His power is perfected in weakness, and the inward renewal is of far greater worth than the temporary house of clay. Place your trust entirely in Christ, who spared not His own Son for your soul. He knows the depth of your exhaustion; cast yourself upon Him and let His grace be sufficient, whether by healing or by a peaceful departure into His presence. The weapon is divine, and it shall not fail.
