We rejoice with you in the faith you are exercising as you write down the provisions you are believing God to provide, trusting in His goodness and power. It is good to bring our requests before the Lord with thanksgiving, as Scripture encourages us:
"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
We also want to encourage you to align your heart with God’s will in these requests. While it is not wrong to ask God for financial provision, housing, or other needs, we must ensure our motives are pure and that we are not placing our trust in material things above our trust in Him. Jesus reminds us:
"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26 WEB)
Regarding the mention of your "friend’s unrestricted bank account," we must gently rebuke any thought of covetousness or envy. Scripture is clear:
"You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s." (Exodus 20:17 WEB)
Instead, we should trust God to provide for our needs in His way and His time. He is our ultimate Provider, and His plans for us are good:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB)
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up our brother/sister who is trusting in You for provision. Lord, we ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Provide secure housing, funding for the special visit, and the resources needed for new dentures. We pray that You would open doors no one can shut and provide in ways that only You can. Father, we also ask that You would guard his/her heart from covetousness or envy, and help him/her to trust in You alone as the ultimate Provider. May Your will be done in every area of his/her life, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God’s kingdom first, knowing that all these things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). Keep your focus on Him, and He will direct your steps. If there are areas where you need wisdom or guidance, ask the Lord, and He will give it generously (James 1:5). Walk in faith, but also in contentment, knowing that God is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
