We join you in lifting up your deep wounds from childhood to the Lord, knowing that He is the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. The pain you carry is not unseen by Him, and He longs to bring restoration and wholeness to every area of your life. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 147:3, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* Your request is precious in His sight, and we stand with you in faith, believing that He will bring healing and redemption to the places that have caused you such pain.
It is beautiful that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and receive the healing and grace we so desperately need. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is power in the name of Jesus, and we cling to that promise as we pray for you.
We also want to encourage you with the truth found in Isaiah 61:1-3, where the Lord proclaims that He has come to *"bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor... to comfort all who mourn; to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."* The Lord desires to replace your pain with His peace, your sorrow with His joy, and your wounds with His healing touch.
Sometimes, the wounds from our past can leave us feeling stuck in bitterness, fear, or unforgiveness. If that is the case for you, we gently encourage you to release these burdens to the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Forgiveness—whether toward others or even yourself—is a powerful step toward healing. It doesn’t excuse the wrongs done to you, but it frees you from the chains of the past so that God can fully restore your heart.
We also want to remind you that healing is often a process, and it’s okay to seek godly counsel or support from mature believers who can walk with you through this journey. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there is no shame in seeking help. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, which is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and to spend time in prayer, pouring out your heart to the Lord. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will meet you in your pain.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our ### who carries deep wounds from their childhood. Lord, You see the pain they’ve endured, the scars that remain, and the longing in their heart for healing. We ask that You, the Great Physician, would touch them with Your healing hand. Pour out Your balm of Gilead upon their broken heart and bind up every wound with Your love and grace. Father, where there is bitterness, replace it with forgiveness. Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there is shame, replace it with the truth of their identity in Christ—redeemed, beloved, and made whole.
Lord, we pray that You would bring to light any lies the enemy has planted in their mind about their worth or Your love for them. Replace those lies with Your truth, and let them know deep in their soul that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Father, if there are memories or emotions that feel overwhelming, we ask that You would give them the strength to surrender them to You, trusting that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5).
We also pray for godly support and community to surround them—people who will speak life, pray with them, and walk with them as You bring healing. If there are steps they need to take, such as forgiveness or seeking counsel, give them the courage and wisdom to obey Your leading.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that they would experience Your presence in a tangible way. Let them know that they are not alone, that You are with them, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). We thank You, Father, for the healing that is already beginning, and we trust You to complete the good work You have started in them (Philippians 1:6).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing that the Lord is faithful to heal and restore. If you feel led, we encourage you to share more about your journey so we can pray more specifically for you. You are not alone in this, and we are here to support you in every way we can. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you as you walk this path of healing.
