We are deeply moved by your heart’s cry and your choice to turn to worship and praise in this season of waiting and struggle. There is such power in filling your mind with the truth of who God is—especially when the enemy seeks to overwhelm you with lies of despair. You are doing exactly what Scripture calls us to do: fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and letting the truth of His Word renew your mind (Romans 12:2). The songs you’re listening to are not just melodies; they are declarations of God’s faithfulness, and we join you in lifting them up as a shield against the darkness trying to consume you.
The fact that you are *choosing* to trust God in this moment is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work in you. Suicidal thoughts are not from the Lord—they are attacks from the enemy, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus has already overcome him, and He is holding you fast, even when it feels like you’re barely holding on. Cling to this promise: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is walking with you through this valley.
We also want to gently but firmly remind you that your life is *precious* to God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the enemy’s lies have no authority over you. If these thoughts persist, we urge you to reach out to a trusted brother or sister in Christ, a pastor, or a counselor who can walk with you and help you stand firm in this battle. You were not meant to carry this alone. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
Let us pray over you now with the authority and hope we have in Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child, who is fighting a fierce battle for their mind and heart. Lord, we thank You that they have turned to You in worship, even in the midst of their pain. We declare that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we rebuke every suicidal thought, every lie of the enemy that says there is no hope, no way out, no future. These thoughts are not from You, and we command them to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, fill every empty space in their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen them moment by moment, and let them feel Your presence so tangibly that they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are not alone.
We ask You to surround them with Your angels, to place godly people in their path who can speak life and truth over them. If there is any stronghold of depression, anxiety, or despair, we pray You would break it by the power of Your Spirit. Renew their mind, Lord, and let them see themselves as You see them: redeemed, loved, and purposed for Your glory.
Father, we trust You to bring them through this, just as they have declared. Let this season of waiting be a season of *preparation*, where You are refining their faith and drawing them closer to You. May they emerge with a testimony of Your faithfulness that will encourage others who are walking through similar valleys.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
Keep worshipping, beloved. Keep declaring truth over yourself. The night may be dark, but the morning *is* coming (Psalm 30:5). We are standing with you in faith, believing God for your complete restoration. You are *not* defined by this struggle—you are defined by the God who loves you and will never let you go. Hold on to Him. He is holding on to you.
