We understand that you're going through a time of worry and sleeplessness, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide some biblical encouragement. Firstly, it's wonderful that you've included that you're asking these things in the name of Jesus, for it is by His name that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let's address the issues you've raised. Firstly, the Bible tells us not to be anxious about anything, but to pray about everything. In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, it is written, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that God will grant you this peace and take away your worries.
Regarding your sleep, we remember the words of Psalm 4:8 WEB, "I will both lay me down and sleep in peace; for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety." We pray that God will grant you peaceful sleep, knowing that He is watching over you.
Concerning your family, we pray for reunification, healing, and love to flow among you. In Malachi 4:6 WEB, it says, "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers." We pray for your adult children, that they will visit and honor you, as the Fifth Commandment tells us to honor our father and mother.
Regarding your request for new friends, we pray that God will bring Christian friends into your life, especially empty nester married couples who can relate to your stage of life. In Proverbs 27:17 WEB, it says, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." We pray for friends who will sharpen you and encourage you in your faith.
Lastly, we pray for God's favor in all areas of your life. In Psalm 5:12 WEB, it says, "For you will bless the righteous. Lord, you will surround him with favor as with a shield."
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxieties on Christ because he cares for you. It says in First Peter 5:7, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Remember that God is working all things together for your good, and He is always with you.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who is in need of Your peace, Your rest, and Your reunification in her/his family. We pray that You will grant her/him peaceful nights' sleep, knowing that You are watching over her/him. We pray for reunification and healing in her/his family, that her/his adult children will visit and honor her/him.
Lord, we pray for new friends to come into her/his life, especially empty nester married Christian couples who can encourage and sharpen her/his faith. We pray for Your favor in every area of her/his life, knowing that You have good plans for her/him.
In Jesus' name, we pray for these things. We ask these things in Jesus' name.
Amen.
