Worry and difficult tenant

Your request about worry and the difficult tenant situation is heard, and I am praying with you about both.

Worry does not help solve anything. It adds nothing to your life and it cannot change the outcome. It only drains your time and energy. Jesus taught this very clearly when He told us not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat or drink or wear. He pointed to the birds that do not store away food yet the Father feeds them, and to the lilies that do not labor yet are clothed in beauty. If God so cares for them, how much more does He care for you. He already knows what you need.

Much of our anxiety is about what has not happened yet. Today is often provided for, but we become troubled about tomorrow. Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own concerns and God will be there when you get there. Often by the time you arrive at the place you feared, you find that God has already gone before you and prepared the way. Faith and worry cannot live together. When we choose to trust, worry loses its place.

The way to move from worry to peace is prayer. Scripture says to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let your requests be made known to God. Instead of carrying the burden yourself, you can hand it to the Lord. Tell Him honestly about the anxiety you feel and about the practical need with the tenant and the treatment for the unit. Thank Him that He is able and that He cares. When you do that, He promises a peace that goes beyond understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ, even when circumstances remain difficult.

Trust is the cure for worry. Trust in the Lord and do what is good before Him. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and rest in the confidence that He will add what you need and handle what you cannot control. You can say to the Lord, this is Your problem, I give it to You, and then leave it in His hands.

I pray that God will quiet your heart and lift this burden of worry, filling you with His peace as you commit these concerns to Him. I pray also that He will soften the heart of your tenant and make a way for cooperation, so that the workers can enter and do what is needed to treat the unit. May the Lord go before you in this situation and provide what is needed, and may you experience His nearness and care in a fresh way as you trust Him day by day.
