We join with you in lifting up the whole world before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, and we thank you for having a heart that reflects God's own heart for all people.
We are exhorted in Scripture, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4. It is comforting to know that God loves the world so deeply, for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16, and that The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.
We are burdened for a world that is broken by sin, war, suffering, deception, and darkness, yet we know that Jesus Christ is the only hope and the only way to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no other name.
We pray together now for the whole world.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before You and lift up every nation, tribe, people, and tongue. We ask that Your mercy and truth would go forth throughout the earth. We pray for all who are in authority, for kings, presidents, rulers, and leaders, that You would grant them wisdom, restrain evil, and establish justice and righteousness. We pray for peace where there is war, for comfort where there is suffering, for bread where there is hunger, and for healing where there is sickness. Most of all, Lord, we pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be proclaimed to every corner of the world, that hearts blinded by sin would be opened, that many would repent and believe and be saved. Pour out Your Holy Spirit, convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and draw multitudes to the cross. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let Your glory be known among all peoples. We ask that You would strengthen Your Church worldwide to stand firm in truth, to love as You have loved us, and to shine as light in darkness until Christ returns. In Jesus' mighty and saving name we pray, amen.

Thank you for praying for the whole world. We join you in that today and it encourages us to see your heart for people everywhere, not just those close to you.
It can feel overwhelming to carry the needs of so many at once, wars and hunger and loneliness and all the quiet struggles we never hear about. It is a good and Christlike thing to bear the whole world upon your heart in prayer, and to bring that burden to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus. Such intercession is communion with Christ Himself, for He ever lives to make intercession for His people within the veil, and when we plead for others we are in sympathy with our great High Priest who made intercession for the transgressors.
You have prayed briefly but comprehensively, and the Lord loves such large petitions. Christ is the desire of all nations, though the nations know it not, groping in the dark after Him. We desire Him for all nations, and oh that the world were encompassed in His gospel. Let us pray for it and labor for it, that His rest might be proclaimed to every weary and heavy laden soul, for there is rest for the understanding and rest for the affections in Christ alone, and an eternal rest which remains for the people of God.
Therefore we will join you and wait upon the Lord who has made all these things. We will pray that the living and incorruptible seed of the Word may find its place in hearts throughout the earth, that men and women who are yet without Christ may be born again, for there is salvation in no other name. We will pray that the light of the world may shine into dark places, that the salt may preserve what would otherwise be putrid, and that the gospel of the kingdom may be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations.
May the Holy Spirit, who helps our infirmities and makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God, guide your own prayers and make them fervent and prevalent. Continue in this holy work, for he who has learned to plead for others has found a high privilege of grace. Not only pray for the world, but as you have opportunity, teach the good and right way as the Lord enables you, and live to seek its good.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer for the whole world is good and pleasing to God, and we join with you in lifting it up before Him in the name of Jesus.
God has shown us that true peace is peace toward Himself, made by the blood of His Son who reconciled us and has overcome the world. Through Christ we have access by one Spirit to the Father, and those who were once strangers are made fellow citizens with His people. This is the peace which Christ leaves with His disciples, not as the world gives, but a peace that unites hearts and makes many souls as one.
So we pray with you for the whole world, asking that the Father would draw many to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We ask that His peace would rest upon nations and homes and churches, that strife and division would give way to the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and that love would bind us together and to God. We also give thanks for all people, for God makes His sun to shine and sends His rain upon all, and He dispenses all things for good even when we do not see it.
May the Lord grant to the world repentance and faith in His Son, comfort to those who suffer, wisdom to those who lead, and to His Church a steadfast love that holds fast to truth while seeking the good of every neighbor. May He keep us sober and watchful, living as those who stand before Him, and may He make us peacemakers who reflect His mercy.

Your prayer for the whole world is precious to the Lord and it reflects His own heart. The highest form of prayer reaches beyond our own needs and brings others before God, and there is no greater need than for the world to know Him. God delights to work through those who will stand in the gap like this.
Jesus Himself prayed for His people while they are still in this world. He did not ask the Father to take us out of the world, but to keep us from the evil that dominates the world system. He said that in this world we will have tribulation, but to take courage because He has overcome the world. Because He has overcome, He can give a peace and a joy that the world cannot give and cannot take away, even when we face sorrow and pressure. He prayed that we would be kept and set apart by the truth, for the Word of God is truth. We are meant to live in the world as a ship is meant to be in the water, but we must not let the water get into the ship.
He also prayed that those who believe in Him would be one, so that the world may believe that the Father sent Him. Our unity and love for one another is part of our witness to a divided and hurting world.
The world today is not as God created it to be or as He intends it to be. People often blame God for the suffering and confusion, but what the world needs most is the grace of God, which then brings the peace of God. Grace always comes before peace, because we cannot know real peace until we have received His forgiveness and been reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ alone. Only then does the war inside the heart end and we can begin to live in peace with others.
So continue to pray as Jesus taught us to pray, with worship for who God is, with petition for your own needs, and with intercession for the lost world. The purpose of prayer is not to get our own will done, but to open the door for His will and His kingdom to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
May the Father hear your intercession and use it for His glory. May He draw many in the world to receive His grace and know His peace, keep His people from evil, make them holy through His truth, and make them one so that the world will see and believe that Jesus is the Son of God sent to save.
