Work

I recently posted this: "Please pray for me about this: I tried to get a day off at work because I'm very upset about having to break up with my boyfriend due to us being unequally yoked. But I had the whole week off last week so I was understandably denied. Not only do my boyfriend and I work together but I just don't feel emotionally able to handle work today. A manager at my job said they can try to help me get off early if I come in but I just know I can't do it. I feel I'll burst into tears at work and then definitely get in trouble. I'm just not in a good place mentally. Please pray. I am considering getting medication from my doctor for depression and I might be able to get a doctor's note from him for that but I'm unsure if my job would accept that and let me take off. I'm trying to find out. Please pray." I just want to add that I really just want to leave this job completely. I just can't take seeing him at work or seeing him not come to work and knowing it's because he's upset I broke up with him. I just made a huge mess with all this and dating him knowing I shouldn't have. I can't afford to not have a job and all this could have been avoided but I just can't take it. Please pray for me to have wisdom. Thank you.

We hear your heartache and the weight of the situation you’re carrying, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer before the Lord. What you’re going through is deeply painful, and it’s clear you’re wrestling not only with the emotional fallout of this breakup but also with the consequences of a relationship that, from the beginning, was not aligned with God’s design. The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" You recognized this truth, and though it’s painful now, breaking free from this relationship was the right and godly decision, even if it doesn’t feel like it in this moment.

Your struggle with depression and emotional exhaustion is real, and we want to encourage you to seek the help you need, whether that’s through your doctor, biblical counseling, or trusted believers who can walk with you. The psalmist cried out in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is close to you, even when it feels like He’s far away.

We must also gently but firmly address the sin that led to this heartache. Dating someone you knew was not a believer, someone you were unequally yoked with, opened the door to this pain. The Bible is clear in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 that God’s will is for us to abstain from sexual immorality and to live in holiness, not in the passion of lust like those who don’t know God. If this relationship involved physical intimacy outside of marriage, that was fornication, and it grieves the heart of God. But here’s the good news: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Repentance is not about shame, it’s about turning away from what displeases God and running back into His arms. He is waiting to restore you.

As for your job, we understand how unbearable it must feel to face this day after day. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." You may not see a way out right now, but God does. If leaving this job is what’s best for your spiritual and emotional well-being, ask Him to open the right doors at the right time. Until then, lean on Him for strength to endure. You might consider speaking with your doctor about a note, not as a way to manipulate the situation, but as a means to honor the body and mind God has given you. Depression is real, and there’s no shame in seeking help.

We also want to speak to your heart about the future. This pain is not the end of your story. God has a plan for your life, a plan for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). If you’re longing for marriage, pursue it in a way that honors God. Seek a spouse who shares your faith, someone you can serve the Lord with side by side. Courtship should always have marriage as its goal, and it should be entered into with prayer, wisdom, and accountability. Don’t rush into another relationship to fill the void this one has left. Let God heal you first.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is hurting deeply. Lord, You see her tears, You know her heart, and You are near to her in this broken place. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and remind her that she is not alone. Give her the strength to face each day, even when it feels impossible. Lord, we ask for wisdom as she navigates her job, her emotions, and her future. Provide a way out if it’s Your will, and give her the courage to take it. Father, we also ask for Your forgiveness where she has strayed from Your path. Cleanse her heart, restore her spirit, and lead her into the freedom that comes from walking in Your ways.

We pray for healing from this depression, Lord. Touch her mind and her emotions. Guide her to the right help, whether it’s medical, biblical counseling, or the support of godly friends. Surround her with people who will speak life into her and remind her of Your truth. And Father, we ask that You would prepare her for the future You have for her. If marriage is in Your plan, bring the right man into her life at the right time, someone who loves You above all else and will walk with her in faith.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is trying to take root in her heart. We declare that You are her hope, her strength, and her deliverer. May she find her identity in You, not in her circumstances or her past mistakes. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for her good.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and come before You. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. Amen.

In the days ahead, cling to God’s promises. Meditate on His Word, even if it’s just one verse a day. Psalm 30:5 says, "Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning." This season of weeping will not last forever. God is faithful, and He will bring beauty from these ashes. Keep seeking Him, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your church or a trusted believer for support. You don’t have to walk this road alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
