We hear the deep longing in your heart, longing for work that fulfills you, for healing in your mind, for closeness with God, and for the blessings of marriage and family. You are not forgotten, even when it feels like you are. The Lord sees every burden you carry, and He invites you to cast them upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let us come before Him together now.

Father in Heaven, we lift up this dear one to You, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Lord, we ask that You open doors of opportunity for meaningful work, work that brings joy, purpose, and provision. Guide their steps to a place where their gifts and talents can be used for Your glory. Guard their heart from discouragement and depression, reminding them that their worth is found in You alone, not in their employment or circumstances (Ephesians 2:10).

We pray for healing in their mind and spirit. The feelings of being left and forsaken are heavy, but You have promised never to leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Draw near, Lord, and let them sense Your presence in tangible ways. Speak to them through Your Word, through prayer, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Renew their mind and fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also bring before You their desire for marriage and family. Father, You said it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18), and we trust that You will provide a godly spouse in Your perfect timing. Until then, strengthen their faith and patience, reminding them that Your plans for them are good (Jeremiah 29:11). We rebuke any loneliness or impatience that may lead to temptation or compromise. Help them to seek You first and to walk in purity, honoring You with their body and their heart (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

Lord, we ask that You bless their study of Your Word, especially their desire to grow in their understanding of Greek and biblical manuscripts. Give them wisdom, resources, and opportunities to deepen their knowledge of Scripture. May their time in Your Word draw them closer to You and equip them to serve You more effectively.

We also pray for restful sleep, Lord. Calm their mind and body so they may wake refreshed and renewed each day. Provide for their needs, including the desires of their heart, like the ice cream maker, as You see fit, knowing that You delight in giving good gifts to Your children (Matthew 7:11).

Above all, we pray that they would know You are not a billion miles away, but right there with them. You are Immanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Remind them that it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father, and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If they have not yet placed their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the fullness of life in You (John 10:10).

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper they are alone or forgotten. We declare that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with hope, joy, and the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We are sitting with your words and they carry a lot of weight -- the longing for meaningful work, the ache for marriage and children, the frustration with Greek studies, even the simple desire for an ice cream maker, all wrapped inside that heavier feeling of being "a billion miles from God" and struggling in your head.

When the distance feels that vast, the smallest step toward connection can begin to close the gap, even before your emotions catch up. One practice that has steadied many of us in similar seasons is simply setting aside a few minutes each day to be still with God, not to perform or conjure up feelings, but to offer Him honestly where you are: "I feel abandoned. Help me hear You." That kind of raw, stripped-down prayer has a way of loosening something inside us, even on days when nothing seems to shift.

We also notice you mentioned your head and sleep several times. That kind of mental strain, especially alongside feeling depressed, can make everything else -- job searching, language learning, relationships -- feel nearly impossible. If sleep has been elusive or your mind won't quiet down, we would gently encourage you to see a doctor about what you are experiencing. Chronic sleep disruption and low mood are real physical burdens, and getting medical support is a wise and faithful step, not a sign of weak faith. God works through physicians and rest alike.

We are also struck by your desire for a job you can actually enjoy rather than one that deepens the depression. That is not a selfish prayer; it is an honest recognition of how work shapes our inner life. While you wait and search, is there one small thing you can do this week to move toward that -- updating a resume, reaching out to one contact, exploring a field you have always been curious about? The goal is not to fix everything at once, but to take one manageable action that pushes back against the numbness.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this friend who feels far from You and tangled in so many longings. Meet them in the quiet this week, even in their exhaustion. Bring relief to their mind, grant them real rest at night, and give wisdom about when to seek a doctor's help. Open a door to work that will bring some enjoyment and resilience. Hold their desire for marriage and family tenderly, and for now, help them take the one next right step in front of them. We ask this in Your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” is a dolorous lament from the lowest pit, but remember who spoke it. It was the Son of God, standing in the place of sinners, enduring the forsakenness that sin deserves. He was forsaken that you might never be. If you feel a billion miles from God, let me ask: are you seeking Him, or are you seeking some feeling in addition to Him? You want to hear from God, yet His Word lies open. Give the Word free admittance. Do not conceal His commands from your own heart. Has He not said, “I will never leave you”? Feelings ebb, but the covenant stands. Lay bare your conscience before Him; tell Him plainly you do not feel His presence. He deals in truth, not fictions.

As for your work, your head, your sleep, is not a man’s life appointed? God guides the grain of dust and steers the comet. He has cast your lot in this day of grace. Trust Him who appoints both means and ends. The continuance of breath, the opening of a door for employment, the quieting of a restless mind, these are not beneath His notice. Are the consolations of God too small for you? He is mighty and despises not any. Your desires for a family, for learning, even for an ice cream maker, are known to Him. Pour out your heart, yet hold these things loosely. Seek first His face, and remember that the most intimate love of God has seldom fallen to the great ones. Not many mighty are called.

You feel it impossible to marry, to move forward, yet Eliphaz’s question rings true: “Are the consolations of God too small for you?” If you have not these outward comforts, have you not Christ? If the Son of God is with you, there is an end of every sort of fear. Your desire to know Greek, to handle manuscripts, good, let it drive you to the Word itself, not away from the Word made flesh. The worst cause of disquietude is unbelief. Do not doubt your God. He has, in Jesus, all the suffering His justice can ask. Look to that cross where the forsaken cry was uttered for you. There, in the darkness, the atonement was made. God will be faithful to that. Pour out your heart there, and you shall find Him.
