Work

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I may need to find a job/line of work that doesn't require so much talking due to health issues. Please also pray for me as I struggle with cleanliness due to never having been taught growing up how to be clean or keep good hygiene. I also grew up in some very bad conditions and often don't notice when my surroundings are dirty even though I long to have a clean, nice home. Due to health issues that affect my energy and ability to do a lot of physical work, I would like to hire a housekeeper twice a month. Please pray that I will find a good one who uses chemicals that are safe around cats and people. Thank you.

We lift you up before the Lord with great compassion, understanding the weight of the struggles you are facing. Your request touches on areas of provision, healing, and personal growth, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God sees your heart and your desire to honor Him in all things.

First, we pray for your job search, that the Lord would open doors to employment that aligns with your health needs. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We ask that He guide you to a position where your strengths can shine, and your limitations are honored. May He grant you wisdom to discern the right opportunity and favor in the eyes of those who can provide it. We also pray for peace in this season of transition, knowing that God’s timing is perfect and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your struggle with cleanliness and hygiene is not overlooked by our Heavenly Father. We rebuke any lies from the enemy that may have taken root in this area, reminding you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that God’s grace is sufficient to help you grow in every area of your life. We pray that the Lord would bring people into your life who can gently and lovingly teach you the practical skills you may have missed, whether through resources, mentors, or even professional help. Proverbs 9:9 says, "Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning." May the Lord surround you with wisdom and patience as you learn.

We also pray for your desire to maintain a clean and orderly home. It is clear that you long for this, and we ask that God would provide the support you need. We lift up your request for a housekeeper, asking that the Lord would lead you to someone trustworthy, diligent, and considerate of your needs, especially regarding the safety of your cats and your own health. May this person be a blessing to you, and may the Lord provide the financial means to make this possible, as He promises in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

In all of this, we encourage you to lean on the Lord daily. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." You are not alone in your struggles, and God is faithful to walk with you through every step. We also want to gently remind you that true peace and fulfillment come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to consider the words of John 14:6, where Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only through Him that we find forgiveness, purpose, and the strength to overcome every challenge.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up every concern to You. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and You see the struggles they face. We ask that You would provide a job that suits their health needs, granting them favor and wisdom in their search. Father, we pray for growth in the areas of cleanliness and hygiene, that You would bring people and resources into their life to help them learn and thrive. We ask for Your provision in finding a trustworthy housekeeper who will care for their home with diligence and kindness. Lord, we rebuke any feelings of shame or inadequacy, and we declare that You are making all things new in their life. Strengthen them, Father, and remind them daily of Your love and faithfulness. May they draw closer to You in this season, finding their hope and identity in Christ alone. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

Growing up without being taught basic skills like home care leaves a real gap, and we're sorry you're wrestling with that now while also managing health limitations. That longing you have for a clean, welcoming home, that's not shallow. It's a good, God-given desire for order and peace in your own space.

A few practical steps that might help in this season:

For the job search, consider roles that are text-based or involve independent work, data entry, inventory management, library or archival work, transcription, or behind-the-scenes support roles can all be less conversation-heavy while still meaningful. Your health limitations don't define your value, and there is work suited to how you're wired right now.

For finding a housekeeper, ask locally at your church or among Christian friends for someone they trust. When you interview candidates, ask directly about the cleaning products they use and whether they're willing to accommodate pet-safe options. Most independent cleaners are happy to use what you provide or adjust their supplies.

And as you learn what "clean" looks like for your own home, be patient with yourself. You didn't choose your upbringing, but you're choosing something different now. That takes courage, not shame.

Lord, you see this one's honest need, for work that fits their body, for a home that feels safe and ordered, and for the practical help to get there. Provide the right job and the right housekeeper. Quiet the voice that says this is too small to bring to you. Surround them with people who can gently teach what was never modeled growing up. And meet them in the weariness with your steady, daily strength. In Jesus' name, amen.

When health fails and the tongue must be spared, the heart may yet speak much with God. The Lord who opens His hand and supplies the needs of every living thing can guide you into that quiet occupation where strength is not overtaxed. Do not think that a reduced power of speech silences your witness; the life patiently lived under the hand of the Almighty often preaches more than many words. Pray without ceasing, and in the silent watches lay this employment before the throne. He who appoints the bounds of our habitation will also appoint the work of our hands, if we wait upon Him.

The longing for a clean and wholesome habitation is right and good. Yet remember that outward cleanliness, desirable as it is, points to a deeper need. You speak of never having been taught, truly, many of us grow up amid conditions that leave their mark. But the great Physican has healing leaves for every soul-wound. Job, who sat among ashes and scraped himself with a potsherd, came at last to see the Lord and found that vision his cleansing. Our real filthiness is spiritual, and only the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses from all sin. When we abhor ourselves in dust and ashes, He makes us whiter than snow. Let this inward cleansing be your first care, and then the ordering of your home may follow. The Spirit can train you in habits you never learned; His grace is the best tutor.

As to a housekeeper, the Lord who watches over sparrows and hears the young ravens cry will not neglect the safety of your little cats nor your own household. Trust Him to send a helper who will use harmless things. The promise stands: “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust.” There is no detail of our lives too small for His fatherly oversight. Chemists’ bottles and fearful odors are known to Him, and He can steer the right person to your door. In all this, Job sinned not by charging God foolishly; neither should you sink into unbelief. Though the body aches and energy wanes, there is a freshness reserved for those who wait upon the Lord. They shall renew their strength. Meanwhile, count it no small thing that your soul may be kept in perpetual health under the healing leaves of Calvary’s tree. Keep looking there, and all else will be added according to His wisdom.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You bring your work and your home before the church in prayer, and this is good. Yet while you seek a livelihood that spares your voice and a helper to cleanse your dwelling, take far greater care for the cleansing of your soul. The condition of the body and the roof over your head are concerns of this passing life, but what you gain from the assembly of the saints, the instruction that renews the mind, must not be crowded out by these cares. Let the things of earth remain in their place, and let the words of God rule both your household and your business.

You long for a clean home after growing up amidst neglect. It is no small matter to provide for one’s own, and a housekeeper can indeed be a means of ordering your household well. The apostle says that he who does not provide for his own is worse than an infidel. To desire a space free of filth is not luxury, but a proper stewardship. Yet be on guard: let not the pursuit of outward order become an excuse to neglect the inner chambers of the heart. You confess that you do not notice dirt because you were never taught. This, too, is a call to vigilance. Lay down daily rules for yourself. Begin with small, firm resolutions: set times for tidiness, bridle the tongue that complains or swears, and attend to the divine writings. There is no cost in this, only the will. The same grace that can make a home orderly can bring every thought into obedience to Christ.

Do not imagine that these health troubles are a barrier to your true work. If you are hindered in much speaking, then speak less, but listen more to the Scriptures. Give attendance to reading, to self-examination, to prayer. A life quiet in the world can be loud in heaven. Remember what great salvation has been given you: not rescue from poverty or illness, but the dissolution of death, the kingdom of eternal life. If you neglect so great a salvation for the sake of temporal needs, what escape will there be?

As you seek a housekeeper, be careful to choose one who will not bring harm to your household, even with the chemicals used. But more, examine what you yourself bring into the dwelling of your soul. With what eyes do you look upon your neighbor? With what thoughts do you approach the holy mysteries? Do you harbor envy, resentment, or sloth? Let your home be a place where the festival of a pure conscience is kept, not a place where hidden sins defile you. For he who receives the Body unworthily eats and drinks judgment, and he who neglects his own flesh in spiritual things denies the faith.

Therefore, let your request for a housekeeper be joined to a request for the cleansing of the Spirit. Establish daily order in small things, and the Lord will strengthen you for larger. Trust that providing for your bodily needs in moderation is acceptable, but let your chief business be those things that concern both body and soul for the life to come. May your works glorify God, not in word only, but in truth.

Your request reminds me of a man who found himself in a season where his health, his ability to work, and everything familiar were stripped away, and he couldn’t make sense of it. He cried out under a weight he didn’t choose, facing physical misery and the daily frustration of weakness. His friends were quick to assume that struggles like that must be rooted in some hidden fault, but the story goes deeper. God Himself had pointed to this man as someone who genuinely loved Him and turned away from evil. So when your body imposes limits, it is not a mark of God’s displeasure or some sin you need to uncover. The burdens you carry, health issues that restrict what kind of work you can do and that drain your energy for keeping a home, are not proof that you’ve done something wrong.

You also spoke of the struggle with cleanliness because you were never taught, and of growing up in conditions that left you unable to notice when things need attention. That kind of history can make a person feel shame, as if they’re to blame for what they never learned. But just as Job’s friends were misguided when they piled accusations on him, you don’t need to heap guilt on yourself. Job longed for a mediator, someone who could stand between him and God and lay a hand on both. We know that mediator now: Jesus Himself. He understands the gaps in your upbringing, the weariness in your body, and the longing for a clean, peaceful space. He does not condemn you for what you lack; He steps into it.

It’s not a failure to look for a job that accommodates your health needs, nor is it weakness to hire a housekeeper. That’s practical wisdom. When your strength is small, seeking help is good stewardship of the life God has given you. I will pray that God opens a door to work that doesn’t overburden your voice, and that He guides you to a housekeeper who is reliable and careful, someone who uses products truly safe for your cats and for you.

Let’s bring that before the Lord now.

Father, you see this person’s heart, the honest desire for a home that feels ordered, the effects of a past that didn’t teach basic care, and the daily reality of limited energy. Please lead them to a job that provides without depleting them further. Send the right helper, someone trustworthy and mindful, who will clean in ways that protect both the people and the animals in that house. Lift the weight of shame that can gather around things they were never taught. Remind them that their worth is not in a spotless floor, but in being fully known by you, the Mediator who bore our weaknesses. Give them patience for the process and glimpses of your goodness along the way. Amen.
