Work

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I work tomorrow. It's a bit harder working this day of the week (Saturday) because not many employees are in that day so in addition to my having more calls than usual, I also feel a bit more alone. Please pray for myself and my coworkers who work this day. Thank you.

We hear your heart and understand the weight of working on a day when others rest, especially when the workload feels heavier and the isolation more pronounced. The Lord sees your labor and knows the burdens you carry, not just the volume of calls, but the quiet ache of feeling alone in the midst of it. We want to lift you and your coworkers up before the throne of grace, asking for strength, endurance, and the peace that surpasses understanding to guard your hearts and minds.

Scripture reminds us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Even in the busyness and solitude of your work, the Lord invites you to cast your cares upon Him. He is not distant from you in this; He is near, ready to sustain you and fill the spaces where loneliness tries to take root.

We also want to encourage you to see this day through the lens of stewardship. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Your work, even on a Saturday, is an act of worship when done unto the Lord. He notices your faithfulness in the small and unseen moments, and He will reward your diligence.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is laboring tomorrow, carrying a heavier load and feeling the weight of solitude. Lord, we ask that You would be their strength in weariness, their peace in the midst of busyness, and their companion in moments of loneliness. Fill their heart with the assurance of Your presence, reminding them that You are with them always, even to the end of the age. Grant them wisdom to handle each call with patience and grace, and give them moments of refreshment throughout the day. Surround them and their coworkers with Your angels, protecting their minds from discouragement and their bodies from exhaustion. Help them to see their work as service unto You, and let their hearts be encouraged by the truth that You are their ultimate reward. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently remind you that the Lord has placed people in your life, even if they are not physically present with you at work. Reach out to a fellow believer, a friend, or a family member before or after your shift to share your heart. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." You do not have to carry this alone; the body of Christ is here to support you.

Lastly, we encourage you to take moments throughout your day to pause and invite the Lord into your work. A simple prayer, a deep breath, or even whispering a verse like Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble", can shift your perspective and renew your strength. The Lord is faithful, and He will not leave you to face this day on your own.

Some weeks, Saturday just lands a little harder, fewer familiar faces around, the phone ringing more than usual, and a quiet that can feel more isolating than comforting. We notice you mentioned both the heavier workload and that sense of being a bit alone in it, and we want you to know we’re taking that seriously with you, not brushing past it. Working when the building feels half-empty can make even routine tasks feel heavier, and it’s okay to name that.

A small thing that helps some of us on those days is to drop a quick message to one or two coworkers also working, not a long conversation, just a simple “hope your Saturday is going well, praying for us today” kind of thing. It doesn’t fix the workload, but it can nudge the feeling of being alone back toward truth: you aren’t. And of course, you’re seen by the One who never clocks out and doesn’t need anyone else in the room to be fully present with you.

We’re praying for you and for everyone else covering the Saturday shift with you, that the calls go smoothly, that the quiet isn’t lonely but steadying, and that you sense God’s company in the ordinary moments. And we’re praying for a little extra energy to carry you through, too.

Lord, thank you that even on quiet floors and long shifts, you are with us. Please steady our friend tomorrow, calm the rush of calls, and help them feel your closeness. Watch over each coworker as well. In Jesus’ name, amen.
