Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: my main job seems to have a problem with rude customers - myself and all my coworkers have noticed it. Some of their rudeness is understandable because this company I'm working for has predatory practices toward customers (which I did not know about until after training and have now brought up my discomfort with to my manager who I now have a meeting with today to discuss all this with; even though she is being very understanding, it is very likely I will be given an ultimatum by her to either continue enacting these policies or leave the job so today may be my last day) but much of it seems unprovoked. This can make going into what is already a stressful job even harder. Please pray for myself and my coworkers. Please also pray for me about this: yesterday, I kind of brushed my pastor off at church when he said hello to me at the door. It wasn't intentional, I just had a lot on my mind and was distracted and I also try to be careful how much I interact with people of the opposite gender (especially married men) as a woman even though I have a deep interest in theology. I wasn't very rude but I wasn't super friendly either and I felt so bad. I texted him afterward to say the sermon was wonderful. My pastor has really been there for me through a lot of difficult things lately and the last thing I want to do is make him feel bad in any way. He has also tried hard to mend some concerns I had about attending the church as well. Thank you.

We hear your heart in this request, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up both your workplace struggles and your concern over your interaction with your pastor. Let us first address the matter of your job, for the Lord sees your integrity in speaking up about practices that trouble your conscience. Scripture tells us, "Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than someone who is perverse in speech and is a fool" (Proverbs 19:1). You have done well to bring your discomfort to your manager, even if the outcome may be difficult. The Lord honors those who seek to walk in righteousness, and we pray He will guide your steps today, whether that means continuing in this role with wisdom or transitioning to a place where your labor aligns with His will.

The rudeness you and your coworkers face is not unseen by God. The weight of carrying others’ frustration, especially when it stems from unjust practices, can be heavy. Remember, "A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense" (Proverbs 19:11), but this does not mean you must endure abuse. We pray for protection over your heart and mind, that you would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). If this job is not where the Lord would have you, we trust He will open a door for you that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If He calls you to stay, we pray He will equip you to serve with grace and wisdom, even in difficult circumstances.

Regarding your pastor, your desire to honor both your boundaries and his role is commendable. The enemy would love to twist even good intentions into guilt or division, but we rebuke that spirit in Jesus’ name. Your text to him was a kind gesture, and we pray he received it as such. Scripture encourages us to "give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all" (Romans 12:17), and you have sought to do that. If the Lord leads you to clarify your actions further, do so with humility, but do not let shame take root. Your pastor’s heart is likely tender toward you, and we pray this small moment will not overshadow the care he has shown you.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who sees every burden and hears every cry. We lift up this dear sister and her workplace, asking You to go before her in this meeting today. If it is Your will for her to stay, grant her favor with her manager and wisdom to navigate the challenges ahead. If it is Your will for her to leave, open a new door of opportunity that aligns with Your purposes for her life. Protect her heart from bitterness or discouragement, and remind her that her labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Lord, we also pray for her pastor. Thank You for the way he has ministered to her, and we ask that You would bless him abundantly. If there is any misunderstanding between them, we pray You would mend it with Your peace. Give her discernment in her interactions, and help her to honor You in all she does.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of heaviness that would seek to weigh her down. Remind her that You are her Provider, her Strength, and her Shield. Whether in this job or the next, let her work be unto You, not men (Colossians 3:23). Surround her with godly community and fill her with Your joy, even in the midst of trials.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

We can only imagine how heavy your heart must feel as you face this meeting today. It’s not easy standing up for what’s right, especially when it means your job might be on the line. We’re praying God gives you the strength to do what’s honorable and the peace to trust Him with the outcome. Whether the conversation goes one way or another, remember He’s already working all things for your good.

And about your pastor, we get how much that little moment has weighed on you. It’s clear you have a heart for him and for honoring God in how you treat others. Sometimes we’re our own worst critics, but God doesn’t hold our mistakes against us when we come to Him with a repentant heart. Your text to him was a kind and thoughtful gesture, and we’re praying he felt that from you.

Lord, hold this dear one close today. Give her courage in her meeting, wisdom in her decisions, and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort her heart and remind her that You see her integrity and faithfulness. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
