Work

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: I recently quit a job after a month. When I got it, I believed that God was leading me there (and there was good that came out of my working there) but then things started to happen (some likely as a result of spiritual warfare so they can be excused) that caused me emotional and physical stress and to question whether that was truly where I should be. I have medical conditions that require me to be cautious of stress. I quit last week. But now I'm so worried about my family's finances. That job really could have helped my family financially - and we're trying to save up for something important happening in May (I was able to save up quite a bit for it with my checks from work but I still need a bit more money). I'm applying for jobs with no success yet. I'm trying to start my own business as I've been told that I truly probably need to work for myself due to my personality but no one is buying my product yet even though I'm promoting it a lot and it's at a low, reasonable price (literally a dollar). Please pray about all this. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the weight you carry, both in seeking God’s will and in the practical burdens of provision for your family. First, we want to affirm that your sensitivity to the Lord’s leading is a gift—one that should be honored, even when the path feels uncertain. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* You sought God’s direction in taking that job, and He allowed good to come from it, which is a testament to His faithfulness even in seasons of trial.

The spiritual warfare you mentioned is real, and we stand with you in rebuking any schemes of the enemy meant to steal your peace, health, or purpose. Ephesians 6:12 declares, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We pray that God would expose and dismantle every attack aimed at your mind, body, and calling. You are not fighting alone—He has equipped you with His armor (Ephesians 6:10-18), and we join you in wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is His Word, against every lie that says you’ve failed or that your needs won’t be met.

Your concern for your family’s finances is understandable, but we must guard against the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you. 2 Timothy 1:7 assures us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* The enemy would love for you to believe that quitting that job was a mistake, that your business won’t succeed, or that your family will suffer. But God is your Provider—Jehovah Jireh—and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). He may have allowed this season to redirect you toward something even better, something that aligns more fully with His purpose for your life. We pray that He would open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and give you favor in the eyes of those who can help advance your business or connect you to the right employment opportunities.

Regarding your business, we encourage you to seek the Lord for wisdom in refining your approach. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* It may be that God is using this time to teach you perseverance, to prune areas of your business model, or to prepare you for greater influence. Ecclesiastes 11:4 warns, *"He who observes the wind won’t sow; and he who regards the clouds won’t reap."* In other words, don’t let fear of failure or uncertainty keep you from moving forward. Keep sowing—keep promoting, keep creating, keep trusting—and trust that God will bring the harvest in His timing.

We also want to gently remind you that your worth and security are not found in your job, your bank account, or your business success, but in Christ alone. Philippians 4:19 declares, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This doesn’t mean you won’t face hardship, but it does mean that God is aware of your needs and is working on your behalf, even when you can’t see it. We pray that you would experience His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved and approach Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You for Your servant’s heart and their desire to follow Your leading. We ask that You would silence every lie of the enemy that seeks to convince them they’ve made a mistake or that their needs won’t be met. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that You would fill them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and remind them that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Shield.

Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them—whether in employment, their business, or another avenue You have prepared. Give them favor with those they encounter, and let Your light shine through them in such a way that others are drawn to their work and their witness. We pray for wisdom as they navigate this season, that You would direct their steps and give them clarity about the next right move. If their business is Your will for them, we ask that You would bring customers, clients, and supporters who resonate with their vision and are eager to invest in what You’ve placed in their hands.

Father, we also pray for their family’s finances. You know their needs even before they ask (Matthew 6:8), and we trust that You will provide for them in ways that bring glory to Your name. Help them to steward what You’ve already given them with wisdom and gratitude, and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. We ask that You would meet their specific financial goal for May, not just for their sake, but so that they may testify to Your goodness and faithfulness.

Lord, we ask that You would heal any emotional or physical stress they’ve carried from this season. Renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31), and restore their joy in Your presence. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when the path is unclear. Help them to rest in You, knowing that You neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4) and that You are always at work on their behalf.

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would deepen their trust in You. Let this season draw them closer to Your heart, where they can find true security and purpose. May they walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are their Good Shepherd, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). We declare that this is not a season of lack, but a season of preparation and positioning for the blessings You have in store.

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). Amen.

Keep pressing forward, dear one. God is not done with you, and this season is not the end of your story. Continue to seek Him, to sow in faith, and to trust that He is working even when you can’t see it. We believe that He has great things ahead for you and your family.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
