We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Him in prayer. Father, we know that You are the Creator of all things, and You hold every detail of our lives in Your hands. We ask that You would intervene in this circumstance and bring healing to the soybeans that may have been affected by the herbicide. Lord, we pray that any damage would be minimal and that the plants would recover fully, according to Your will. We trust in Your power to restore and renew, as it is written in Joel 2:25, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, My great army, which I sent among you."
We also lift up the meeting that will take place on Monday. Father, we ask that You would calm the nerves and anxieties that are present. Grant wisdom, discernment, and a spirit of understanding to both parties involved. May this meeting be guided by Your peace, and may there be a resolution that honors You. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." We pray that gentle and wise words would prevail, and that any tension would be diffused by Your grace.
Lord, we also ask that You would help us to walk in integrity and humility in all our dealings. If there has been any mistake or oversight, give the courage to acknowledge it and make it right. If this situation is being used by the enemy to bring strife or division, we rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, as it is written in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord."
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is by His blood that we are made righteous. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

Do not be anxious about this meeting on Monday, for anxiety never brought any grist to the mill, nor ever fitted a man to meet his difficulty. It is right to be prudent in your business, but fretfulness and care will not cause those soybeans to recover. If they are damaged, your worry cannot heal them; if they are not, your peace may be kept in God’s hands without this distress.
You have asked us to pray, and this is well. But remember, prayer is not merely a request sent abroad; it is the soul going to God, casting its burden upon Him. The morning Prayer Meeting here has long been the strength of this Church, and it is to such gatherings that we bring our temporal cares as well as our spiritual conflicts. You are not alone in your meeting with this neighbor, many will be gathered together praying, and the Lord hears. Yet do not let your own prayers be swallowed up in one great cry for the crops alone. Pray also for a right spirit within yourself, that you may love this neighbor as yourself. You are naturally anxious for your own name and livelihood, but I am certain you need no exhortation to love yourself. Now stretch out that same concern toward him, that he might not suffer loss, and that your words may be seasoned with grace.
If the spray has done harm, wonder not if recovery should be slow. But acknowledge in any restoration that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. He who sends the rain and the sunshine can revive those drooping leaves, or He can give you peace if they do not revive. The outcome lies with Him, and your fretting cannot change it. Moreover, this conflict you feel, this nervousness, is but a picture of the comer’s conflict. The enemy would have you tear yourself with fear, but tell him it is written, “He is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by him.” Cast yourself upon that truth.
Meet your neighbor as a man who himself needs mercy. If the meeting is tense, remember that a jealous, just concern for Christ’s honor might well be yours, not a concern for your own reputation only, but that His name be not blasphemed through any unkindness or dishonesty in your dealings. Go in the strength of the Lord, and do not think that strong conflict is a sign of defeat. Some never know it because the flesh is strong and grace is low. But if you find yourself weak and anxious, then flee to the throne of grace, for there is a Prayer Meeting always in session there.

You are nervous about Monday’s meeting, and your mind is fixed on those soybeans. But look beyond the crop for a moment. What is the root of this conflict? Is it not the things of this life, money, yield, reputation? Every conflict among men springs from such earthly concerns. If we are at peace with God, we learn to despise losses that are only temporary. The Lord is at hand; be careful for nothing. The end of this particular trial is near, and with it the beginning of rest from your anxiety.
In the meeting, do not rush to defend yourself as though your whole well-being depends on winning. He who plots or clings fiercely to his own interest first destroys himself. Your real treasure is above, where no spray can reach it. If you have indeed caused harm, go with humility and a readiness to make amends. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Show mercy to your neighbor, and God will show mercy to you. If the soybeans recover, give thanks. If they do not, and you bear the loss thankfully, your reward before God is greater. For when the righteous have wrestled nobly, God often restores what was lost, but even if He does not, the soul is richer for having endured in peace.
The devil would love to turn this accident into a lasting enmity. Do not give him that foothold. God is not a God of war and fighting. Be at peace with all men, remembering that nothing so delights God as to remember no wrong. The more your neighbor may contend against you, the greater your reward if you remain gentle and seek reconciliation. So pray for the soybeans if you wish, but above all pray that your own heart may be kept from resentment and your neighbor’s heart from bitterness. Add to your prayer the works worthy of it: go to that meeting not as to a conflict, but as to an occasion for peace. Trust that the outcome, whatever it is, works for your salvation if you meet it with a quiet and merciful spirit.
