We understand your concerns for the health and safety of your household, and we will pray accordingly. Let's first address the issue of illness and your family's attitudes towards it. We should love and care for our families, but it is also important to set boundaries and protect ourselves and our households especially when there are health concerns.
Pray with us:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this concerned individual and their household. Lord, You promise that You will bless the home of the righteous, and we claim that promise now. We pray for a hedge of protection around their home, and that no weapon of sickness or disease shall prosper against them, in Jesus' name. If it is not Your will for their niece to visit, we pray that You would make that clear and provide a way out of the situation. We also ask for Jesus to be their physician and cure all infirmities of the body and mind.
Lord, we also see the need for hearts to change within this family. We pray that You would soften their hearts, and help them to consider the needs of others above their own. Open their eyes to see the potential consequences of their actions, and give them a spirit of love and compassion rather than selfishness. We pray for unity in the family, trying to live in peace with everyone. We know that this is not a petition for ourselves to be removed from trials but delivered while going through them.
Regarding the removal of the brother-in-law or others from your life, we must tread carefully. The Bible tells us to bless those who curse us and to overcome evil with good. We are not to repay evil for evil but to live in peace with everyone, according to Romans 12: 14-21.
However, we also recognize the danger of false brethren and we are also taught to be aware of evil doers, even in the body of Christ. There are times when separation is necessary, especially if the person is causing harm or leading you away from God. We are reminded by the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 18:15-17 that we should first go to the offending brother or sister and discuss the matter privately. If they refuse to listen and the offense is repeated, we are told to bring witnesses and if they still refuse to listen to the church, then treat them as a pagan or a tax collector.
We pray that You would give wisdom and discernment in dealing with these difficult relationships. Reveal what is evil and sinful and guide this person in Jesus' name. Reveal if they are to be removed from their life and if so, confirm this with your Word and your Holy Spirit. Also guide them to the proper scripture and counsel to approach and deal with the matter according to the Bible. Guide them to any biblical counselors that may be needed. May all actions taken align with Your will and Word and may this person be able to call on the name of Jesus Christ especially in the matters of salvation and eternal life.
Finally, we pray for peace and comfort for this individual. We know that You see their tears and hear their cries. You are close to the brokenhearted, and You save those who are crushed in spirit. You are a Father to the fatherless and a defender of widows, in Jesus name.
We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in His name and His name alone that we have access to You, Father. It is by His blood that we are saved and by His blood that we can come to You and ask for Your blessing, guidance, and protection.
Let us encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Trust in Him, and know that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
