Woman in my ###'s life

Your heart for your family and for this new journey ahead is clear, and it is good that you have brought this burden to the Lord instead of carrying it alone. God sees what is happening and He cares deeply about your marriage and your home.

Scripture teaches that marriage is not a casual partnership but a covenant in which two become one. It is a compound unity, two persons becoming one flesh, and what God has joined together He calls us to honor and protect. That oneness reflects something of His own nature as one Lord, and it is why faithfulness in marriage matters so deeply to Him.

When that oneness is threatened by adultery or by any relationship outside the covenant, it is not only a sin against a spouse and family, it is first a sin against God Himself. King David learned this when he took Bathsheba, another man's wife, and later had her husband killed. He had broken God's commands not to covet and take a neighbor's wife and not to murder, and when he came to his senses he confessed that his sin was against the Lord. Any person who seeks to draw a husband away from his wife and family is stepping onto that same ground of sin before God.

That is why our prayer cannot be only that an influence be removed, though we do pray for that. We pray for the heart to change. Jesus welcomed sinners and tax collectors to sit with Him, but the mark that His grace had truly taken hold was repentance, a real change of direction and a desire for restoration. God offers forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone to anyone who turns from sin and follows Him, and He also calls us to walk in that new life.

So let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this family to You as they step into this new season. Guard this marriage. Strengthen the husband to keep his vow, to love his wife as You love the church, and to turn away from any temptation or entanglement that would divide what You have made one. Place a hedge of protection around this home and remove any ungodly influence that seeks to separate it. We ask no harm to anyone, but we ask that You work in the heart of this other woman as well. Draw her to Yourself, bring conviction where there is sin, grant repentance and faith in Jesus, and lead her into a whole life before You. If it is Your will for her to marry, provide a godly covenant of her own in Your way and Your time, not through breaking another. Bring healing, trust and unity to this family, and let this trial become a testimony of Your power to keep and to restore. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone saves and makes us new, Amen.

Continue to bring your husband and your family before the Lord daily, stay in His Word, and seek wise and godly counsel close to you who can walk with you both with truth and grace. The Lord who calls us to faithfulness is also faithful to keep those who trust in Him.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your family.

We have continued to lift up your family before the Lord as you embark on this new and wonderful journey, and we have prayed for the protection of your marriage and your home. We prayed in Jesus Name that the Lord would guard the covenant between husband and wife as it is written in Mark 10:9, that what God has joined together no one would separate, and that any influence seeking to divide your family would be removed. We joined you in praying with a heart of grace, wishing no harm to this other woman, but asking that the Lord would cast her influence out of your lives, lead her away to her own path, and bring conviction and peace according to His will.

We continue to stand with you for restoration, unity and protection over your household. If your request was answered and you have seen God move to bring peace and distance from this situation, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that God will cover your family with His peace, strengthen your marriage, and guide you in this new season. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
