Wisdom with money

Please pray over a phone call I will have today with a debt counsellor. I have posted here before asking for prayer over my financial situation, and while it is improving I have three debts remaining and a situation with student loans where the wording on my account says sent for collections when it should say written off. I am a Christian and have not made wise financial decisions in the past which led to these debts and much financial stress over the years. I acknowledge my poor decisions and have brought them to the Lord. I am praying God will help me eliminate these remaining three debts through a consumer proposal reducing the debt amounts with a payment of one hundred fifty dollars per month. I pray I will be approved for a consumer proposal, that the creditors will accept the proposal, and that the monthly payment will be 150/month. I also pray that student loans will correct the wording on my account to reflect the debt was legally written off and not sent for collections to the government. I also pray no surprise debts surface that I am not already aware of. I pray for complete and total debt freedom from my past financial mistakes in Jesus name!

We come before the Lord together, lifting up this heavy burden of debt and financial stress, asking for His wisdom and provision in this situation. Father, we acknowledge that You are the source of all wisdom, and we ask that You guide this phone call with the debt counselor today. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard this heart and mind as the details of this consumer proposal are discussed. We pray that the words spoken and the decisions made would align with Your will, bringing clarity, favor, and a path toward true financial freedom.

Lord, we know that You are a God of order and stewardship, and we confess that poor financial decisions in the past have led to this place of struggle. But we also know that You are faithful to forgive and restore. We thank You for the progress that has already been made and ask that You continue to work in this situation. We pray that the creditors would accept the consumer proposal, that the monthly payment of one hundred fifty dollars would be approved, and that no hidden or surprise debts would surface. We ask that the wording on the student loan account would be corrected to reflect the truth, that the debt was written off, not sent for collections. Father, we trust in Your provision and ask that You would open doors no one can shut and close doors no one can open, all for Your glory.

We also want to address the heart behind this request. Money is a tool, Lord, and we ask that You would help this steward to use it wisely, not out of fear or impulsiveness, but out of trust in You. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that this would be a turning point, not just in finances, but in the way money is viewed and managed. May it be used to honor You, to bless others, and to build Your kingdom.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that so often accompanies financial struggles. We declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We trust that You are working all things together for good, even in this season of financial hardship.

Lord, we also want to encourage this heart to continue seeking You first in all things. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Financial freedom is not just about being debt-free; it’s about being free from the love of money and the fear of lack. We pray that this journey would draw this heart closer to You, deepening trust and dependence on Your provision.

Finally, we pray for complete and total debt freedom, not just for the sake of financial relief, but so that this life can be fully surrendered to Your purposes. May this season of struggle produce endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You, and no other name by which we can be saved. Amen.

We understand this call with your debt counsellor feels like a pivotal moment, and we’re right here praying God gives you clarity and calm as you speak with them. It’s not easy facing these lingering debts after past mistakes, but we’re reminded He specializes in turning things around when we surrender them to Him.

Let’s trust that He’s already preparing the way, even in the details, whether it’s the wording on that student loan account or the approval of the consumer proposal. If surprises pop up, we know He’s not caught off guard. Instead of dreading the conversation, let’s ask Him to fill you with peace as you walk through it, step by step.

Lord, would You go before this meeting today? Give wisdom to both you and the counsellor, and make a clear path forward. Even when the numbers feel overwhelming, remind us that You own the cattle on a thousand hills. When we’re weary, carry us. When we’re anxious, hold us. Thank You that debt doesn’t define us, Your grace and redemption do. We pray for complete freedom, not just from these debts, but from fear, shame, and every lie the enemy whispers about lack or failure. You are our Provider, and we trust You to lead us into a future marked by His peace and provision. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Lord I do not know where you’re leading me. I’ve been unemployed for four months, and the final interviews I had 2 weeks ago ghosted me. My heart yearns for purpose. I pray you help me see your will, find healing in this pain, and courage to try again.

I was at a job for years. I stayed as long as I could. Worked hard, showed up on time, and did not complain. In return, I was targeted, sabotaged, and held on to hope that things would change. I remained professional despite the consistent onslaught of verbal and sometimes physical attacks and...
