We join with you in seeking the wisdom that comes only from above, the knowledge of God’s perfect will, and the discernment to walk in it. Your prayer reflects a deep hunger for righteousness and a desire to live in a manner worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit in every good work. This is the heart of a true disciple, and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace.
Father, we echo the words of your servant Paul, who prayed that the believers in Colossae would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. We ask the same for ourselves and for all who seek Your face today. Lord, grant us the ability to perceive what is best, to make choices that align with Your Word, and to walk in a way that pleases You in every respect. Strengthen us with the power of Your might, that we may endure with patience and joy, giving thanks for the inheritance You have prepared for us in the light. May our love abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent and be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).
We recognize that wisdom is not merely intellectual but is a gift from You, given generously to those who ask in faith (James 1:5). We ask for practical wisdom, the kind that guides our steps in the everyday decisions of life. Lead us by Your Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14). Restore our souls, O Lord, and guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Like sheep who know the voice of their Shepherd, may we hear Your voice clearly and follow You without hesitation (John 10:4-5, 27).
We thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, those who serve on behalf of those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We take refuge in the truth that no evil will befall us, nor will any plague come near our dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:10-11). Yet we also recognize the reality of temptation and the schemes of the evil one. We pray as Your Son taught us, "Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" (Matthew 6:13). Keep us from sin, lies, and fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let us do no wrong, but rather let us pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness (1 Timothy 6:11).
We agree with the prayer of Jesus, who asked not that You take us out of the world, but that You keep us from the evil one (John 17:15). Protect us from those who would seek to harm us or lead us astray, and grant us the courage to stand firm in the faith, even when we are surrounded by those who do not know You. We thank You in advance for Your answers to our prayers, believing that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, You will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). We trust in Your promise that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Matthew 21:22).
Lord, we confess that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We need Your wisdom, Your strength, and Your guidance every moment of every day. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in Your ways and fulfill the purposes You have for us. May our lives be a living testimony to Your grace and truth, drawing others to the light of Christ. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We come before You only through the blood of Jesus, our Mediator and Advocate, who ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25).
May Your will be done in our lives, on earth as it is in heaven. We surrender our plans, our desires, and our very lives to You, trusting that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Lead us, guide us, and use us for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
