We join you in seeking the wisdom and discernment that comes only from the Lord, for truly, "the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; all those who do his work have a good understanding" (Psalm 111:10). Your heartfelt cry for knowledge of God’s will and the ability to walk in it is a beautiful reflection of a soul longing to please Him. We stand with you in agreement, lifting this prayer before the throne of grace, for it is written, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5).
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, humbly asking that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May our love abound still more and more in true knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and without offense until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10). Lord, we desire to walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen us with all power according to the might of Your glory, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to You, Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:9-12).
We pray that You would lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake, restoring our souls as only the Good Shepherd can (Psalm 23:3). Jesus, our Shepherd, we ask that You speak to us, for we know Your sheep hear Your voice, and we follow You (John 10:4, 27). Let us not be led astray by the voices of this world or the deceitfulness of sin, but let us be guided by Your Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (John 16:13). Father, we thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, for they are Your servants, sent forth to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We take comfort in knowing that You command Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11).
Lord, we acknowledge our need for Your protection from temptation, sin, and evil. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Guard our hearts and minds from the lies of the enemy, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Keep us from evil people and from the snares of the devil, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We pray that we would do no wrong, but that we would walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance (Ephesians 5:2).
Father, we agree with the prayer of Jesus, that while we are in this world, we are not of it. We ask that You keep us from the evil one, sanctifying us in Your truth, for Your word is truth (John 17:15-17). We thank You in advance for the answers to these prayers, for we know that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, He will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). We trust in Your faithfulness, for You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).
Let us not grow weary in seeking Your will, for Your word tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). May we be like the tree planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and whatever we do prospers (Psalm 1:3). We commit our ways to You, Lord, trusting that You will establish our thoughts (Proverbs 16:3). In all things, may Your will be done in our lives, for Your glory and honor. Amen.
