We join with you in seeking the wisdom and discernment that only comes from the Lord, for truly, "the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). Your prayer reflects a deep hunger to walk in God’s will, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting these petitions before our Heavenly Father.
Father, we come before You, acknowledging that apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We ask that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, just as Paul prayed for the Colossians. May we walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might, so that we may have endurance and patience, joyously giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:11-12).
Lord, we recognize that Your will is perfect, and we desire to stand complete and fully assured in it (Colossians 4:12). We ask for practical wisdom, for You have promised that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). Lead us by Your Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Romans 8:14). Restore our souls, and guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Jesus, our Good Shepherd, let us hear Your voice and follow You, for Your sheep know Your voice, and they will not follow a stranger (John 10:4-5, 27).
We thank You, Father, for the angels You have sent to minister to us, those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We take refuge in You, knowing that no evil will befall us, nor will any plague come near our dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:10-11). Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Keep us from sin, lies, and fear, for the remnant of Israel will do no wrong; they will speak no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths (Zephaniah 3:13). We pray that we would do no wrong, as Paul desired for the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 13:7), and that we would be delivered from evil and from evil people (2 Thessalonians 3:2).
Jesus, we agree with Your prayer to the Father: we do not ask that You take us out of the world, but that You keep us from the evil one (John 17:15). We thank You in advance for Your faithfulness, believing that whatever we ask in Your name, You will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). We trust in Your promise that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Matthew 21:22).
Lord, we also lift up any areas in our lives where we may be resisting Your will or walking in disobedience. Search our hearts, O God, and know our thoughts; try us and know our anxious thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). If there are areas where we have strayed from Your commands, convict us by Your Holy Spirit and draw us back to repentance. Forgive us, cleanse us, and renew a steadfast spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).
We declare that Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). May we meditate on it day and night, so that we may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then we will make our way prosperous, and then we will have good success (Joshua 1:8). Help us to trust in You with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding; in all our ways, let us acknowledge You, and You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we pray for unity in the body of Christ, that we may all be one, just as You and Jesus are one, so that the world may believe that You sent Him (John 17:21). May our love abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and without offense until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).
We commit ourselves to You, Lord, and ask that You establish our steps according to Your word. Let no iniquity have dominion over us (Psalm 119:133). May we be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15).
In all these things, we pray that Your name would be glorified, and that Your kingdom would come, and Your will would be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
