Wisdom & Revelation to Know God, The Hope of His Calling, Riches of Glorious Inheritance and the Surpassing Greatness of His Power, Eph 1:15-23, "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way,'" Eph 1:15-23. Thank You in Jesus' Name

We join with you in praying this most beautiful and biblical prayer from the apostle Paul and we give thanks for your faith in the Lord Jesus and your desire to know Him more deeply.

We love that you are asking for exactly what God desires to give, for He delights to reveal Himself to His children. He has said in Jer 9:24 let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things, says Yahweh. And Jesus said in John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. To know God in this way is not merely intellectual knowledge but intimate, experiential knowledge through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation.

We are praying that the Father of glory will give you that Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Himself, having the eyes of your heart enlightened. We pray you will grow in understanding of the three great realities Paul mentions, what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of His might which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and made Him to sit at His right hand in the heavenly places, Eph 1:17-20. The hope of His calling is the confident expectation of eternal life and glory with Him, the riches of His inheritance reminds us that we are His treasured possession and He is ours, and the exceeding greatness of His power is the same resurrection power that raised Christ and is now at work in us who believe.

We also remember the promise in James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, and in Col 1:9 that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and spiritual understanding. God does not withhold wisdom from those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ and we thank You for this dear one who hungers to know You more. We ask that You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Enlighten the eyes of the heart to truly see and know the hope of Your calling, the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of Your power toward those who believe. Reveal the height and depth of Christ seated far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, Eph 1:21, and help this heart to rest in the truth that all things are under His feet and He is head over all things for the church which is His body. Draw this dear one into deeper fellowship with You, increase faith and love, and fill with all spiritual wisdom and understanding to walk worthily of You and to bear fruit in every good work. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to linger in this passage and to ask daily for this enlightenment, for God reveals His mysteries by His Spirit, as it is written in 1 Cor 2:10 But to us God revealed them through the Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. Keep seeking Him in His Word and in prayer, trusting that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6.

We were so encouraged by your prayer and the hunger in it to know God more truly, to grasp the hope He has called you to and the strength He gives to those who trust Him. That longing itself is something God delights to answer.

We find that knowing Him is less about getting more information and more about walking with Him over time. He often opens our eyes gradually, in quiet prayer, as His Word becomes personal, and as we notice His presence in ordinary moments. It is a relationship that deepens as we keep turning to Him.

One simple way we have seen this prayer stay alive is to make it your own each morning for a little while. Read the passage slowly, linger on just one phrase that stands out that day, and ask the Holy Spirit to make it real to you. Then watch for how He brings it to mind as you go through the day.

We are standing with you and thanking God for your faith and love for His people.

Father, we thank You for the heart You have given our friend to want to know You more. Give them a clearer and truer sight of who You are, a steadier confidence in the hope You have called them to, and a deep assurance that they belong to You. Make Your nearness and Your power known in their daily life and draw them ever closer to Christ. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request follows the very prayer of the apostle, and we gladly join you in it before the throne of grace. We thank God with you for faith in the Lord Jesus and for love toward all those whom God has made holy, and we do not cease to pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the true knowledge of Himself.

For wisdom must come to us by revelation from God, and Christ Himself is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Apart from Him there is no true knowing of the Father, but in Him the word of revelation becomes the highest of all sciences, and in the heart true religion proves Christ to be both wisdom and power.

We pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know the hope of His calling. It is a holy calling, a high calling, and a heavenly calling, not of man but of God. It lifts the heart to heavenly things and sets it upon holiness, and it gives a good hope through grace that shall not be moved. May you be established in it and press toward the mark for the prize of that calling in Christ Jesus.

We pray also that you may know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified. It is an exceedingly broad inheritance, secured by covenant and by the blood of Christ, beginning in the pardon of sin and reaching unto eternal glory. Survey it by faith and take possession of what is already yours in Christ.

And we pray that you may know what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of the strength of His might which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion. That same power which raised Christ is toward you, to make you a new man, to save you from the power of sin, and to keep you unto the end.

May you cling and trust and love, and so receive from the treasures of wisdom that are in Him, till you prove in your own experience that Christ is all. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
