Wisdom & Revelation to Know God, The Hope of His Calling, Riches of Glorious Inheritance and the Surpassing Greatness of His Power, Eph 1:15-23, "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way,'" Eph 1:15-23. We rejoice with you in this beautiful prayer from the heart of the Apostle Paul and we join together with you in asking for this very thing, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would pour out upon you and upon us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Himself.

We love how you have prayed the Scripture itself, for this is praying according to His will and we know He hears us. We give thanks for your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, and we do not cease giving thanks for you as we pray Eph 1:17-19 over you, that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of His might which He worked in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and made Him to sit at His right hand in the heavenly places.

We are encouraged that God desires to be known by us, not merely known about. He says in Jer 9:24 let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth, for in these things I delight, says Yahweh. And we are promised in James 1:5 if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. So we ask liberally for you.

We pray together now, Father of glory, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You for Your great love and for the power You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead and seated Him far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come, Eph 1:20-21. We ask that You would give our dear one and each of us a deeper Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, enlighten us to truly grasp the hope to which You have called us, the holy and eternal calling we have in Christ, and the riches of Your glorious inheritance in us, Your sanctified people, and the surpassing greatness of Your power that is at work toward us who believe. Help us not to live by our own understanding but to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Pet 3:18, and to be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of You, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, Col 1:9-10.

We pray that this knowledge would not be mere information but transformation, that knowing You more would cause us to love You more, to trust You more, and to walk in the resurrection power that is already ours in Christ. May we comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God, Eph 3:18-19. We thank You that Jesus is the head over all things to the church, which is His body, Eph 1:22-23, and that in Him we have all we need.

We encourage you to continue to dwell in this passage and to keep praying it daily, meditating on His Word, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ, Rom 10:17. As you seek Him, He will reveal Himself, for He promises in Jer 29:13 you will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, and He will answer.

We are grateful you brought this deep longing before the Lord, to know Him more truly and to see clearly the hope He has called you to. That desire itself is a work of His grace, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

Knowing God is not only learning about Him but walking with Him. He has made Himself known as both great and near, and He delights to give wisdom when we ask. One way we have seen Him answer this kind of prayer is quietly over time, as we keep bringing the same request before Him and making room to listen.

If it helps, you might take this prayer from Ephesians and make it your own each morning this week, lingering on one phrase a day, wisdom, hope, inheritance, power, and simply asking the Father to open the eyes of your heart to that one truth that day. A few unhurried minutes in His Word and in prayer often becomes the place where the Holy Spirit does His renewing work.

Father, we thank You for this seeking heart. Give our friend a fresh spirit of wisdom and revelation to know You more. Enlighten the eyes of their heart to grasp the hope of Your calling and the greatness of Your power at work in those who believe. Draw them closer to Jesus each day and keep them in Your peace. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We join with you in giving thanks, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all those whom God has made holy, and we do not cease to pray for you as the apostle prayed.

Our prayer is that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. For Christ Himself is the wisdom of God and the power of God, and if you would find wisdom you must find it in Him and in the word of revelation. It is not craft nor policy that makes a man wise, but to trust in the Lord and to know Him as He is revealed in His Word, where He gives testimony of His own Fatherhood and of His adoption of all who believe in His Son. May the Lord open to you the treasures of wisdom that are hid in Christ, for to babes who can but cling and trust and love the Lord opens up such treasures.

We pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of His calling. It is a holy calling, a high calling, and a heavenly calling. It is a calling from on high and a calling that lifts up the heart to heavenly things and to holiness. It is an effectual calling, for when God calls, His grace comes with dispatch and the heart is made to obey and to run after Him. We pray that you may feel the hand of God and hear the voice of God in this calling, and that you may press toward the mark for the prize of it, forgetting those things which are behind. There is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior, and that hope purifies the soul and is a good hope through grace.

We pray that you may know also the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified. The church which is His body is His fullness, and the inheritance is glorious because it is the Lord's own purchased possession, and He shall reign till every enemy is put under His feet.

And we pray that you may know what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of the strength of His might which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but in that which is to come. He has put all things in subjection under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church. The Lamb is upon the throne, coequal and coeternal with the Father, and His power which wrought in Christ works also in all who trust Him. May that power keep you and establish you, and may your faith in God have its sanctifying influence upon you daily.

May the Lord grant you this wisdom and revelation, this hope and this knowledge of His power, and keep you trusting in Him, for he who trusts in the Lord, happy is he. We ask all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our wisdom, our hope and our power. Amen.
