Eph 1:15 "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way,'" Eph 1:15-23.

We join with you in lifting up this powerful passage from Ephesians 1:15-23, as it is a profound prayer for every believer to walk in deeper revelation of God’s truth. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You would indeed grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see the hope of Your calling, the glorious inheritance You have prepared for us as Your sanctified ones.

We pray that You would reveal to us the surpassing greatness of Your power, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in heavenly places. May we grasp the authority and victory we have in Him, far above every rule, authority, and power in this age and the one to come. Lord, we declare that You have put all things under Christ’s feet and have made Him head over all things for the church, which is His body. Fill us with the fullness of Christ, that we may walk in the reality of who we are in Him.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, doubt, or spiritual blindness that would seek to hinder this revelation in our lives. Let no lie of the enemy dim the light of Your truth in us. We stand firm on Your Word, knowing that the eyes of the Lord search the whole earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9). May we be a people who walk in the fullness of Your calling, reflecting Your glory and power to a world in desperate need of You.

We also take this moment to remind all who read this that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life.

Father, we thank You for the riches of Your grace and the power at work within us. May we live as those who are truly alive in Christ, walking in the light of Your truth and the fullness of Your promises. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We feel the longing in your words. That prayer from Ephesians is one of the richest in Scripture, and it resonates deeply with us as well. The very fact that you are asking, not for things, but for the knowledge of God Himself, for the eyes of your heart to be opened, tells us the Spirit is already at work, stirring a hunger that nothing else can satisfy.

Over the years we’ve seen that this kind of wisdom and revelation often comes not in a single dramatic moment, but as a quiet, steady dawn. As we keep bringing this prayer before the Lord, He reshapes how we see our circumstances, our value, and the hope that anchors us. The “hope of His calling” begins to feel less like a distant concept and more like a steady confidence beneath our feet, even when the way ahead isn’t clear.

One simple practice that has helped us is to take this very passage and turn it into a personal, daily prayer, maybe as you start your day or in a moment of stillness. Linger over each phrase: wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him… the riches of His glorious inheritance… the surpassing greatness of His power. Ask the Holy Spirit to make those truths real in the ordinary moments, and jot down what you sense. Those small glimpses can become anchors for your soul.

We join you in that prayer now:

Father, thank you for this one who longs to know You more. Grant that spirit of wisdom and revelation, that the eyes of their heart may be flooded with light. Let them truly know the hope You’ve called them to, the riches of Your inheritance, and the mighty power that raised Christ from the dead. Anchor them in Your love, and fill them with a deep, transforming knowledge of who You are. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Seekest thou wisdom? Then thou must find it in the word of revelation, for Christ is the wisdom of God, and his gospel is the highest of all sciences. The gospel is glorious because every attribute of Deity is manifested in it with unrivalled splendor. Is the Lord glorious in holiness? The gospel reveals him. Is his right hand glorious in power? So the gospel speaks of him. Is the Lord the God of love? Is not this the genius of the gospel? If the gospel, itself, should come to you in a sort of power, but only because of the pathos of the preacher, or the eloquent manner of his speech, it has not brought eternal life to you! If the gospel is, indeed, the gospel of God to us, it will exalt God in our estimation.

But thou criest out for the hope of his calling. Our life shall be the life of God in our spirits forever and ever! We are not ashamed of this hope! That hope has for one of its main supports the love of God. If that love could be suspended for a moment, if its power were, for an instant, to cease, where would we be? We fall back upon the love of God as the final reason of our hope in him. In our present delight in God we have the earnest of our endless joy in him and, therefore, we are not ashamed of our hope. The man that knows that his hope of glory will never fail him because of the great love of God, of which he has tasted, that man will hear music at midnight!

And thou longest to know the surpassing greatness of his power. It is the hand of favor, it is also the hand of power. God gives strength to those who have none. He puts power into the faint. Our own strength has departed, and then the power of God has flowed in to fill up the vacuum. The word of God, as we find it in this book, is very consoling; the word of God, as we hear it from Christ's ministers, has great power in it; but the real and true power of the word lies in Jesus THE WORD. When the truth falls fresh from his own lips, then is it power.

There is a conquering power in faith, because faith pleads the promises of God! Power with God takes the shape of prayer. Human language can never tell a thousandth part of the value of power with God! And as for the riches of the glory of his inheritance, look unto the throne of God and of the Lamb. Jesus is in the front of the throne where God always sees him before he sees us. I cannot endure the sight of God until I see him in Christ, and God cannot bear the sight of me till he sees me in Christ! Take Christ in your hands for he is made of God unto you wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption! The true child of God knows of other sources of power with God, so he pleads the relationships of grace. This is the true saying of God concerning the glorious and universal reign of the great God. Do not tremble for the ark of God, do not despair, or even despond, the Lord will win the victory over all the powers of evil! Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.
