Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name and He alone is our hope and our peace.
We thank God for your faithful love as a mother and for your desire to see your household live in unity, gratitude and holiness. We will pray with you for these burdens you have carried.
We pray for your younger daughter, that the Lord will grant her wisdom and understanding in her classes and in her work in the lab, that He will guard her health and bring healing from POTS according to His mercy, and that He will keep her safe as she drives and as she studies. We ask that God will give her a peaceful and focused mind, help her to work diligently without wearing herself out, and surround her with godly and encouraging friendships that build her up and respect the way she was raised. We ask that the Lord will protect her heart from negative influences, including the friend who leaves her withdrawn and down, and give her discernment to step away from any relationship that pulls her into discouragement or confusion. We pray that her love for her brother will remain tender and that she will continue to see him as a blessing, and that her bond with you will be strengthened and guarded.
We also pray for your son, that the Lord will grant him peace of mind, rest from torment, and freedom from fear and confusion. We ask for His protection over him and for daily grace, healing and joy in his life, and that no setback would hinder the good work God is doing in him.
We pray for your younger daughter's courtship with the young man you described as respectful and kind toward you and your family and toward her brother. We ask that God will keep that relationship pure, honest and centered on Christ, with clear boundaries and with wisdom, respect and self control, and that if it is His will it would move in an orderly way toward marriage as God has designed it, which is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman where love, faithfulness and the gift of living together belong.
For your older daughter we do not ask God to bless a living arrangement outside of marriage, because Scripture teaches that living together apart from marriage is not marriage and does not honor God. Instead we pray that the Lord in His mercy will open her eyes to see the controlling, dishonest and exploitative patterns you have described, that He will give her courage, wisdom and strength to turn away from what is harmful, to steward her finances and her work with dignity, and to be restored in her faith, her self worth and her fellowship with her family and her church. We pray that God will break every unhealthy hold that this young man and his mother have had upon her, frustrate every scheme that brings division, jealousy and isolation, and draw her back to a place of safety, truth and freedom in Christ. We pray she will no longer defend or make excuses for what is wrong, but will desire what is good and holy.
We join you in asking for protection over your whole household from spiritual oppression, division, resentment and ungratefulness. We ask that God will fill your home with His peace that passes understanding, with love, honesty, respect and unity, and that He will give each of you strength, courage and understanding to face every challenge. We pray that every plan to lure or manipulate your younger daughter away from home or to use her finances will be stopped, and that your children will not be drawn into imitating what is unhealthy but will walk in obedience, thankfulness and love for the Lord and for one another.
May the Lord keep you and your children under His care, clothe you with His armor, and establish you in His grace. We will continue to pray that He restores what has been broken, makes your family bond strong in Him, and leads each of you on His bright and faithful path. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
