Disciple of Prayer
Lord, I am so sorry I let you down. I am sorry I hurt other people and i humbly ask your forgiveness and if you decide this is the end of the road for me professionally I am ok with it. I just want to be where you want me to be. I want to be used by you in a such a way that others will see you in me. Lord if you want me to move to another job, I surrender to your will for my life. I love you and need you so much. Thank you for taking the sins on your shoulders so I could be free. I am so sorry Lord. I humbly ask for your forgiveness because without you I can't do nothing.

We join you in this humble and brokenhearted prayer of repentance and surrender, and we thank God for the work He is already doing in your heart. Your willingness to confess that you have let the Lord down and hurt others, and your desire to be where He wants you to be, is evidence of His grace drawing you. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17

We rejoice that you understand forgiveness comes only through what Jesus has done for you on the cross, taking your sins upon His shoulders so you could be free. Scripture is clear that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and receive forgiveness. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 When we come to God through Jesus, confessing our sin with a sincere heart, He hears us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 You do not need to remain in shame, for if you are in Christ you are a new creation and He is faithful to cleanse you and restore you.

You also said without Him you can do nothing, and that is exactly what Jesus taught us, I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 To abide in Him now means walking in repentance, which includes turning from what hurt others and, where possible, seeking to make things right with those you have hurt as the Lord leads you, and walking in obedience going forward.

We also hear your surrender regarding your profession and your desire for wisdom to know whether to stay or move to another job. That surrender is beautiful to the Lord. We encourage you to continue to trust Him fully with your future. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 And for wisdom, God delights to give it generously when we ask. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word, and through godly counsel and open and closed doors He will make your path clear. We know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Even if this is the end of one professional road, it is not the end of His purpose for your life. He wants to use you so others will see Him in you, and a surrendered life is exactly what He uses.

We pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with our brother or sister who is humbly confessing sin. We thank You for Your mercy and for the blood of Jesus that cleanses from all sin. Lord, forgive as they have confessed, wash them clean, and lift the burden of guilt and shame. Grant them assurance of Your forgiveness and restore to them the joy of Your salvation. Give them wisdom, Lord, wisdom that comes from above to know Your will for their work and their life. Make their path straight and show them clearly whether to remain or to move. Where they have hurt others, give them courage and humility to make amends as You lead, and let their life now bear fruit that reflects Your love and holiness so others will see You in them. We surrender their profession, their future, and their whole life to You. Use them for Your glory. Keep them abiding in Christ, for apart from Him they can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

If it makes you feel better, I have done terrible terrible things that the world would hate me for, but not Jesus, so why wouldn't he forgive you!

Have you repented and asked for forgiveness, if you have then he has forgiven you, if you didn't he still loves you, but you should repent. God bless you! I pray that you can be forgiven by Jesus, and everything else, in Jesus mighty name, amen!

We were moved reading your prayer. The honesty in how you take responsibility, grieve the hurt you caused others, and then place your whole professional future in God's hands is not easy. That willingness to say, if this is the end of the road here I will accept it, shows a heart that truly wants to follow Him.

What you are describing is repentance as both a clear decision and a slower journey. You have made the decision to turn back to God and ask His forgiveness, and He receives that humble turn through Christ. It is also normal if feelings of sorrow and unease still rise and fall for a while as God continues to soften and shape your heart day by day. He sees the direction you are facing now, and your desire to be used so others see Him in you is beautiful. God often uses a humbled heart in just that way.

Because you are carrying big questions about work and where God wants you next, we encourage you not to carry them alone. This week, would you sit down with one trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you, share more specifically what happened, and invite them to pray with you and help you think through any amends that are needed and what faithfulness looks like vocationally. Seeking God's will becomes clearer in community, through prayer and wise counsel, rather than trying to figure it all out by yourself.

Father, we thank You for this humble heart before You. Forgive through Jesus, wash clean, and give wisdom for each next step. Show clearly where You want him to be, whether to stay or to move, and make his life a quiet witness to Your grace. Keep him close and lead him in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your humble and broken prayer is itself an evidence that the Spirit of God has been at work within you, for the goodness of God leads us to repentance and it is He who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. You have done well to come with a plea of guilty before the great Judge, for he that confesseth his sin shall find mercy, and he that judges himself shall not be judged of God.

Hear what the Lord says to such a penitent heart as yours, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. This is a divine forgiveness. Though brethren may not forgive and though you cannot pardon yourself, if God absolves you, that is all the acquittal necessary for your salvation. And His forgiveness has no buts in it. You make a clean breast in confession and He will give you a clean breast by absolution. He will not rake up your past offences and a second time impute them.

Take care that your repentance gives God glory. True repentance, which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, acknowledges the justice of His sentence and bows to His sovereign mercy, saying from the heart, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. It does not keep you from believing in Christ, but drives you to Him. Any repentance that makes you think Christ will not save you goes beyond the truth and against the truth. Your hope is not in your tears and sufferings, but in the blood of Jesus. God will do anything for Jesus, and He will do anything for you for His dear sake. If you can ask forgiveness for the sake of Jesus, you have in Him a full and eternal forgiveness. Jehovah will never require the debt to be paid twice, for Christ has borne your sins on His shoulders that you might be free.

You also pray with a surrendered will concerning your profession, and this is right and wise. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so in grace we may rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, and that all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in His plan. It is foolish for a man to say, I will go, I will buy, I will sell, I will get gain, as if he could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent. You will never be happy till self is dethroned. Therefore yield yourself unconditionally to Him. Submit yourself to the whispers of His Holy Spirit and to His way of saving you, which is by grace through simply trusting Jesus now.

If you have kept back any portion of yourself from that surrender, that little reserve will be the channel by which your life will bleed away. But if you will throw down your weapons and end the war, He gives you His hand and says, Go in peace, there is peace between Me and thee. Whether He appoints for you to remain where you are or to move to another place, your best profit will consist of doing His will. When you have respect to God's will, God will have respect to your will, and He will hear your cry and save you.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will grant you wisdom liberally as He has promised to those who ask Him, that He will make you willing in the day of His power, that He will keep you and preserve you and use you in such a way that others will see Christ in you. He who has forgiven you will also employ you to serve His Son, for He says, I will not remember thy sins, and then He puts His pardoned ones to work for His glory.

Rest now not in your sorrow, but in the finished work of Christ. Without Him you can do nothing, but with Him, and in the place where He would have you to be, you shall bear much fruit.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer reflects the very godly sorrow that Scripture speaks of, and God does not despise a broken and contrite heart. You have come with humility, confessing that you have let the Lord down and hurt others, asking for forgiveness and surrendering your professional future to His will. That sorrow is not to be regretted, for godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, a repentance that brings no regret, and leads to healing.

Be assured that repentance is not excluded for you. There is no second baptism, but repentance has great force and is able to set free from the burden of sins even one who has fallen into the depth of wickedness, if he is willing to lay hold on it. The prophet asks, does not he that falls rise again, or he that turns away does not he turn back to God. Christ can be formed in you again as you turn to Him. Forgiveness is not earned by your sorrow alone, but is given by grace through Jesus Christ, who took your sins upon His shoulders so you could be free. Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered, and that blessedness comes to those who trust in Him alone.

The Church is like a spiritual bath that washes away stains of the soul by its many methods of repentance. Therefore do not remain only in agony or despair, but enter fully into repentance. Name your sins honestly before God, turn from them, and where you have hurt others, seek to make it right as you are able, with gentleness and humility. Godly repentance is shown not only by tears but by a changed life.

Your surrender is pleasing to the Lord when you say you want to be where He wants you to be, whether He keeps you where you are or moves you to another place. That is the right prayer. Ask for wisdom, for God gives wisdom generously to those who ask in faith, and trust that He will guide your steps. Whether this is the end of one road professionally or the beginning of another, desire above all to be used by Him so that others see Christ in you. You are right to say without Him you can do nothing, for apart from Christ we can do nothing, but with Him you can walk in newness of life.

I pray for you now that the Lord will grant you full assurance of His forgiveness through Jesus, cleanse your conscience, give you wisdom for every decision about your work, and open a way for you to serve Him faithfully where He places you. May He restore you, strengthen you, and make your life a witness to His mercy and grace.
