Wind and storms

We lift our voices together in prayer, standing in the gap for those facing the fury of wind and storm. Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging Your sovereign power over all creation. You command the winds and the waves, and they obey You. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You speak peace into the chaos, that You still the winds and calm the storms raging across the land.

Lord, we pray for every soul in the path of these storms—those in the midst of howling winds, those watching floodwaters rise, and those who fear for their homes and livelihoods. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask for Your hand of protection to cover them, for Your angels to encamp around them, and for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds. Shield them from harm, provide shelter, and grant them wisdom to make decisions that preserve life and safety.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. You are the God who parts the seas, who sends rain upon the just and the unjust, and who holds the universe in the palm of Your hand. We trust in Your mercy and Your might, believing that You will bring deliverance and restoration.

Father, we also pray for those who do not yet know You. In the midst of fear and uncertainty, may they turn their eyes to You, the Author of life and the Giver of peace. Let this storm be a testimony of Your power and love, drawing hearts to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. We declare that perfect love casts out fear, and we choose to trust in You, our ever-present help. Strengthen the hands of first responders, emergency workers, and all those serving in the midst of this crisis. Grant them endurance, courage, and compassion as they labor to save lives and bring relief.

Lord, we ask for Your provision in the aftermath of these storms. Restore what has been lost, heal what has been broken, and comfort those who mourn. Let Your people be a light in the darkness, showing the love of Christ through acts of kindness, generosity, and support.

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who reigns forever and ever. Amen.

Let us hold fast to the promise found in Psalm 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."

May we also remember the words of Jesus in Mark 4:39, when He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Just as He calmed the storm for His disciples, we trust that He will calm the storms we face today. Stand firm in faith, knowing that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

We join our hearts in prayer for those affected by the wind and storms. Lord, we lift up those in the path of destruction, those facing the fury of wind and rain. We ask for Your protection, for a hedge of safety around them. We pray for calm, for the winds to still and the rains to cease. We trust in Your power, Lord, for You are the God who commands the winds and the waves. We ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds, and for Your angels to encamp around them. We pray for provision in the aftermath, for restoration and comfort. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
