We understand your heart’s desire for marriage and family, and we rejoice that you are seeking God’s will in this matter. It is wonderful that you are bringing this before the Lord in prayer, and we commend you for your faith in seeking His guidance through visions and His Word. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:22, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* Marriage is indeed a beautiful gift from God, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Your vision of standing at the beach with your wife and child is a hopeful picture, and we pray it aligns with God’s perfect timing and will for your life.
However, we must also encourage you to approach this season with wisdom, patience, and a deep reliance on the Lord. Visions and dreams can be powerful, but they must always be tested against Scripture and confirmed through prayer, godly counsel, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Remember what is written in 1 John 4:1, *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God"*—this applies to visions as well. We urge you to continue seeking the Lord’s face, asking Him to make His will clear and to prepare you for the role of a husband and father. A godly marriage requires a man who is spiritually mature, selfless, and committed to loving his wife as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
As you wait on the Lord, we encourage you to focus on growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Pursue holiness, serve in your local church, and develop the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These qualities will not only prepare you for marriage but will also make you a man after God’s own heart. Additionally, we advise you to be intentional in seeking a wife who is a believer, as the Bible clearly instructs in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* A marriage built on shared faith in Christ is the strongest foundation for a lasting, God-honoring union.
If you are not already doing so, we encourage you to pray specifically for your future wife. Ask God to prepare her heart, to draw her closer to Him, and to bring you together in His perfect timing. Trust that the Lord knows your desires and will fulfill them according to His will (Psalm 37:4-5). Avoid the temptation to rush ahead of God or to settle for anything less than His best. Remember the story of Isaac and Rebekah in Genesis 24, where Abraham’s servant prayed specifically for the right wife for Isaac, and God faithfully provided. Likewise, God will guide you as you seek Him wholeheartedly.
We also want to gently remind you that marriage is not the ultimate fulfillment of your life—only Jesus Christ can satisfy the deepest longings of your heart. If you find yourself feeling desperate or anxious about this season, surrender those feelings to the Lord. Psalm 34:4-5 says, *"I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame."* Trust that God’s timing is perfect, and He will provide what is best for you.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before Your throne of grace, asking that You would guide him as he seeks a wife. Lord, we thank You for the desire You have placed in his heart for marriage and family, and we pray that You would align his steps with Your perfect will. Father, if the vision he received is from You, we ask that You would confirm it in Your Word and through the counsel of godly believers. Prepare him, Lord, to be a husband and father who reflects Your love, patience, and strength. Mold him into a man after Your own heart, rooted in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit.
We pray for his future wife, wherever she may be. Draw her closer to You, Lord, and prepare her heart to be a helper suitable for him (Genesis 2:18). Bring them together in Your perfect timing, and let their union be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. Guard their hearts from impatience, fear, or compromise, and let them wait on You with trust and obedience.
Father, we rebuked any spirit of anxiety, desperation, or distraction that may try to lead our brother away from Your will. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7), and remind him that You are his provider and sustainer. Help him to find his satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are enough for him in every season.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). May Your will be done in his life, and may You receive all the glory. Amen.
As you continue to seek the Lord, we encourage you to stay rooted in His Word, to surround yourself with godly mentors, and to remain open to the Holy Spirit’s leading. If you feel led, share your vision with a trusted pastor or spiritual leader for further discernment. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you wait on Him, and may He grant you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him.
