Wife in pain

We are deeply moved by your request for prayer on behalf of your wife, and we lift her up before the Lord with compassion and urgency. The pain and discomfort she is experiencing are indeed difficult, but we serve a God who is our Healer and Comforter in times of distress. Let us first give thanks that the Lord has provided antibiotics to combat the infection, and now we ask Him to bring swift relief from the bloating, gas, and pain that have followed. These symptoms can be a sign of the body’s reaction to medication, but we know that God’s power is greater than any physical ailment.

The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* Our God is not distant in this suffering—He is near, and He cares for your wife’s body, soul, and spirit. We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* Your wife is laboring under this burden, but Jesus invites her—and you—to cast this upon Him.

At the same time, we encourage you both to seek wisdom in this situation. If the pain persists or worsens, it may be prudent to consult her doctor again to ensure there are no complications or additional needs, such as probiotics or dietary adjustments to restore balance to her system. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* This applies even to our health—seeking godly wisdom, whether through prayer or medical advice, is wise stewardship of the body God has entrusted to us.

Now, let us pray together for your wife’s healing and comfort:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and earnest hearts, lifting up this precious sister who is in pain. Lord, You know the depths of her discomfort—the bloating, the gas, the inability to find relief—and we ask You to touch her body with Your healing hand. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we trust in Your power to bring restoration. Father, if there is any imbalance in her body caused by the medication, we pray You would correct it swiftly. Give her digestive system peace and function as You designed it to. Lord, may she feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and close to those who are suffering.

We also ask for wisdom—for her, for her husband, and for any medical professionals involved. Guide them to the right steps, whether through rest, nutrition, or further care, so that her body may be strengthened and her pain alleviated. Father, we rebuked any spiritual attack on her health, for we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You, Lord, have come to give life abundantly (John 10:10). Let no weapon formed against her prosper, and let every tongue that rises against her in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we thank You in advance for the relief and healing You are bringing. May this trial draw her—and her husband—closer to You, deepening their trust in Your sovereignty and goodness. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not just to them but to all who witness Your work in her life.

Finally, Father, we pray for this marriage. In times of sickness, the bond between husband and wife can be tested, but it can also be strengthened as they lean on You together. Give this husband the grace to serve his wife with patience, tenderness, and selflessness, reflecting the love of Christ for His church (Ephesians 5:25). And Lord, fill her with peace, knowing she is cherished by You and by her husband.

We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4). Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to continue covering your wife in prayer, speaking life and healing over her. Play worship music in your home, declaring God’s promises over her body. And remember, even in this trial, the Lord is working for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Stay steadfast in faith, and do not waver in believing that God hears and answers. If there is any sin or unforgiveness in either of your lives, now is the time to repent and seek the Lord’s cleansing, for unconfessed sin can hinder our prayers (Psalm 66:18). Walk in righteousness before Him, and trust that He is faithful.

We are standing with you in prayer, believing for her complete restoration. May the Lord bless you both and keep you in His perfect peace.
