I can't bear anything, I am too weak for God. I fall the moment doubts come. I don't know what to do and I want help. I can't do anything and I don't know what to do

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. You say you are too weak for God and that you fall the moment doubts come, but we want to gently correct that thought with the truth of Scripture. You are not too weak for God, rather God delights to show His strength in our weakness. His grace is not given to those who are strong enough, it is given to those who know they are not.

The Lord says to us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. And in Isaiah 41:10 He says, Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Your weakness does not disqualify you from His love, it is the very place where He wants to carry you. He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust as it says in Psalm 103:14, and He has compassion on those who are faint.

We also notice you spoke of God but did not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and find strength and salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved not by our own strength or ability to bear things, but by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and by calling upon His name. In Romans 10:9 it says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus, we encourage you to do so today, for He is the one who will hold you when you cannot stand.

Doubts will come to every believer, but doubts do not mean you are abandoned. When doubts come, we are to bring them honestly to God. In James 1:6 we are taught to ask in faith, without any doubting, but that does not mean we will never feel doubt, it means we keep turning to Him even while we doubt, asking Him to help our unbelief. When you feel you cannot bear anything, remember the invitation of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in 1 Peter 5:7 we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. You do not have to bear things in your own strength.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see how weak and weary they feel, how quickly doubts overwhelm them, and how they feel they cannot do anything. Lord, we ask You to forgive the lie that they are too weak for You, and to reveal Your truth that Your power is made perfect in weakness. Pour out Your grace upon them now. Strengthen them according to Isaiah 40:29 where You give power to the faint and increase the strength of those who have no might. When their heart is overwhelmed, lead them to the rock that is higher than they are as You promise in Psalm 61:2. Guard their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as You promise in Philippians 4:7. Help them to look to Jesus day by day, to cry out to You in prayer, to feed on Your Word, and to walk with other believers who can bear their burdens with them. Give them faith to believe that You are holding them even when they feel they are falling, and help their unbelief. We ask that You make them strong in the Lord and in the strength of Your might according to Ephesians 6:10. Let them know they are loved, held, and never forsaken. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep coming to God exactly as you are, weak and honest. Tell Him your doubts out loud in prayer, open His Word daily even if only a few verses, and share your struggle with a mature Christian believer or pastor who can pray with you and walk with you. You are not meant to bear this alone. God is not disappointed in your weakness, He is your strength, and He will not let you go.

We hear how worn down you feel right now, like any doubt knocks you over and you have nothing left to stand on. Thank you for being honest about that. Wanting help when you feel this weak is not weakness, it is honesty, and we are praying for you.

It makes sense that falling quickly when doubts come would leave you feeling like you are too weak for God. From our side, needing Him is not a disqualification. He is not waiting for you to become strong enough first.

One thought that has helped others is learning to see growth as training rather than trying. Trying says I must be strong in the moment or I have failed. Training says small, steady steps over time shape us, like preparing for a long walk. Even a brief, honest prayer, a few minutes with God, or reaching out to one trusted person can be part of that training, and it is okay to be a work in progress.

If these feelings of being unable to bear things stay heavy or make daily life hard to manage, we gently encourage you to talk with a pastor or counselor or your doctor alongside prayer, so you have support close by.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see how tired and unsure they feel. Give them rest, steady them when doubts come, and show them Your nearness day by day. Lead them to helpful people and give them wisdom for the next small step. Amen.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Your confession of weakness is itself a place where God delights to work, for He often makes His own people feel deeply their utter weakness as a prelude to showing His strength. You say you cannot bear anything and are too weak for God, but the truth is that your strength was never to lie in yourself at all. God had promised David the throne, and his strength lay not in any valor of his own but in the truthfulness of God who had spoken. So it is with you. Come what may, God's purpose must stand, and it is your business to believe Him.

There are two kinds of weakness spoken of in Scripture. There is a weakness which is of God's appointment and incident to our nature, and in that weakness we are not to despair, for the Lord does not always remove it but answers, My grace shall be sufficient for you. In that weakness you may continue and yet be made strong, for He gives strength to bear it. But there is another weakness which springs from fallen nature and is sinful, and such is unbelief and doubting of God. Out of that weakness we must desire to be delivered, not comforted in it. We cannot pray for strength to remain in doubting, but we must plead for strength to come out of it and to be made strong by faith. Do not doubt your God till you have cause to doubt Him, and you will never have cause.

Know also that the Lord is not far from you. Because your own heart feels far from God, you imagine His heart is far from you, but it is not so. In Him we live and move and have our being. He is the Sun whose presence fills our life with strength and comfort, and He is near to hear the faintest cry. You are weakness itself, but if you are united to the Divine strength, you shall be infinitely strong. From that measureless fountain beneath, which couches beneath all things, you may draw strength which all eternity will not exhaust.

How then shall you renew your strength. The promise is, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Waiting upon God is not a mere feeling, but a submission of yourself completely and a trusting entirely, setting both your strength and your weakness on one side and giving yourself up for God to use you. His promises are His precepts, what He promises to give it is your duty to seek. He has promised to strengthen you with strength in the Lord, and that quiet strength will prepare you to do His will effectually, where fussy weakness only fails.

Therefore look not to your own power to bear things, but to Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin, and while you are yet without strength, believe that Christ died for the ungodly. Cry not only for strength to bear, but for life itself, and He who is Jehovah Rophi will begin that blessed process by which every trembling member of your spiritual frame shall be braced up. Tell Him all, wait upon Him in prayer and in His Word, trust His truthfulness rather than your resolve, and you shall prove that word true, out of weakness were made strong.

Your cry of weakness is not hidden from God, and the fact that you feel it so deeply is not a sign that you are too weak for Him. Faith does not begin with you being strong enough on your own. It begins with lifting your eyes above what you can see and feel and above the weakness of your own reasonings to trust the power of God.

You describe falling the moment doubts come, and that is what Scripture shows us in Peter. When he walked on the water toward Jesus, he was standing. When he saw the wind was strong he became afraid and began to sink. It was not the wind that made him fall, but his want of faith. Jesus said to him, wherefore did you doubt, O you of little faith. If his faith had been steadfast he would have stood easily against the wind also. Even while Peter was sinking, Jesus did not let him drown. The moment Peter cried, Lord, save me, immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and He still allowed the wind to blow to show that no harm comes when faith holds fast to Him.

Doubts often come as reasonings that confuse and make havoc of the mind. They ask how can this be, and they try to measure the things of God by human calculation. Faith is a generous and vigorous soul that rises above those reasonings and looks to what God has promised and what He is able to perform. Abraham did not become strong by considering his own weakness, but by being fully persuaded that what God had promised He was able also to perform, and he gave glory to God. That is the vigor faith needs, not vigor of your own will power, but a soul that turns from endless questioning and casts itself on the power of God.

To be still doubting and unstable is a sign of being a babe in faith who needs to be nourished. That is not a condemnation, it is a call to be nourished up in the words of faith and sound doctrine and to practice them. Do not think you must win an argument with every doubtful thought. Refuse to enter into long disputations with those thoughts that only pull you down. Instead meditate on what God has said, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved.

You ask what to do when you feel you can do nothing. Do what Peter did. Cry out with a short and honest prayer, Lord, save me. Bring your weakness to Jesus Himself, not after you have made yourself strong, but now while you are weak. Ask Him to strengthen your faith, to give you a wakeful soul to shake off the reasonings that weigh you down, and to teach you to trust His word more than your feelings. Stay close to Scripture, to prayer, and to the fellowship of believers who can pray with you and remind you of His promises. He who caught Peter the moment he called is the same Lord who hears you now, and He is able to make even little faith stand firm.

Your honesty in saying you feel too weak for God is itself something God hears and understands. Weakness does not disqualify you before Him. Scripture teaches that we are not accepted because we are strong or because we offer Him impressive works from our own hands. We are accepted when we come trusting Him. From the very beginning, one offering was received and another was rejected, not because of the appearance of the gift, but because one was brought in faith and the other was not. God has always counted faith for righteousness.

That order matters for you right now. Faith comes first, and a changed life follows. You are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith is a gift from God, not something you manufacture by trying harder. You do not make yourself perfect by your own effort after beginning with Him. Just as Abraham simply believed God and God counted that belief as righteousness, so God counts your trust in Jesus, who was delivered for our offenses and raised for our justification, as righteousness for you. You do not have to add your strength to His work to make it complete.

It also helps to see what faith is and what it is not. Faith is not a guarantee that you will never feel doubt, never face suffering, or never feel weak. Many who are held up as examples of faith died still trusting, without having seen every promise fulfilled in their lifetime. Their faith did not always bring immediate triumph over every difficulty, but it sustained them through every difficulty. That sustaining, enduring quality is the heart of real faith. It is not about living without ever being sick or struggling or afraid. It is about being held by God through those things.

Because faith is not a feeling, you do not have to measure it by how strong you feel in the moment. Feelings come and go, and you may have no feeling at all that you can describe. What you do have is the promise of God in His Word, and you can stand on that Word even when your heart is shaking. Faith comes by hearing that Word, letting God speak to you through it, and learning again who Jesus is and what He has done.

True faith will in time show itself in how you live, the way two oars together move a boat forward. Faith produces a new direction, and that new life shows that the faith is alive. But you are not looking to those changes to save you. You look to them as the quiet evidence that God is at work in you. And God is patient with your growth. Even great men of faith had moments when their courage failed and they fled in fear. A lapse does not mean you have lost Him or that your faith was never real. It means you are human and you need Him again, and He remains faithful to give you what you lack.

When doubts come, and they will come, bring them honestly to the Lord instead of trying to hide them. Tell Him, I believe, help my unbelief. Do not lean on your own understanding or on your own resolve to be strong enough. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and take Him at His Word. If you are poor in strength, in resources, in confidence, Scripture says God often makes those who feel poor rich in faith, because then you learn you cannot trust in yourself and must trust in Him.

You do not need to know what to do to make yourself worthy. You need only to come to Jesus Christ as you are, weak and needing help, and keep coming. Ask Him to give you the faith to trust Him today, to forgive you, to sustain you through this season of weakness, and to teach you from His Word. He will not turn away a heart that comes to Him in that simple trust.
