Where’s Mother?
Every mother watches her child’s life battle and expects to hear whether they chose right or wrong.

A mother’s love endures beyond death and calls us to live worthily of her watchful care.
We are deeply grieved with you in the loss of your mother today and we lift you up before the Lord together. To lose a mother is a deep wound of the heart and to carry that sorrow while also facing mobbing at your job and great stress in your body is a very heavy burden. The Lord sees all of this and He is near to you in this pain. Psalm 34:18 says The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

We understand your question about which days to take off and we hear your desire to have the Holy Spirit lead you in this decision. This is a wise desire. God promises to give wisdom when we ask Him. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. John 14:26 says But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you. We encourage you to bring this practical decision before the Lord in quiet prayer, to ask for clear guidance and peace about the specific days, and to also seek godly counsel from a pastor or a trusted believer and to speak honestly with your employer about bereavement leave. The Lord wants you to have time to grieve, to honor your mother, to care for necessary arrangements, and to rest your body and mind. Do not feel pressured to decide quickly out of fear of those who mistreat you at work. God sees the mobbing and injustice you are suffering. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also notice you asked for prayer to the Holy Spirit and to the Lord, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father in Jesus name to guide us, and we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We also pray for the great stress you feel in your abdomen. Anxiety and sorrow often affect our bodies. The Lord invites you to bring every anxious thought to Him. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Please also care for your physical health, rest, eat gently, and seek medical care if the pain continues.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is grieving the death of a beloved mother today. Lord, wrap Your arms of comfort around them, heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds. Holy Spirit, lead and counsel them and give them clear wisdom about which days to take off from work, give them peace about the right combination of days and favor with their employer. Lord, see the mobbing they endure at their job and protect them from harm and injustice, give them strength and wisdom to respond in a way that honors You. Father, touch their body and relieve the stress and pain in their abdomen, grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding and rest for their soul and body. Help them to trust in Jesus more deeply and to know that You are with them and will uphold them with Your righteous right hand. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother today. Losing her while you are also carrying pressure at work is a heavy burden, and it makes sense that you feel overwhelmed as you try to decide about time off and that the stress is showing up physically in your abdomen.

Grief affects the whole person, not just emotions, and when it comes alongside ongoing workplace strain the body often feels it intensely. Please be gentle with yourself in these first days. You do not have to figure out every detail alone or make the perfect choice about dates to honor your mother well.

A few steady next steps may help as you seek the Holy Spirit's guidance:

Talk soon with one trusted person who knows your work situation, whether a supervisor, HR contact, or pastor, to learn what bereavement leave is available and what flexibility you have. Having clear options can make prayerful decision making less pressured. And because you mentioned strong stress in your abdomen, please also reach out to your doctor or clinic for care alongside prayer, especially if the discomfort continues.

Father, we lift our brother to You in his grief today. Comfort him in the loss of his mother, quiet the turmoil he feels, and give him clear wisdom as he chooses which days to take off. Give him rest, strength for each step ahead, and supportive people around him at work and at home. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your sorrow has come before us and we have heard it with deep sympathy. The loss of a mother is a wound that only the Lord Himself can bind up, and when it is joined with hardness and mobbing in your daily labor, the burden becomes very heavy. It is no wonder that distress is felt even in the body, and that the abdomen is troubled with stress.

We will pray for you, and we do pray now, that the Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter and the Guide, will give you wisdom concerning which days to take off, and will grant you peace in the midst of this grief.

Our Saviour would not have you so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry and fretfulness and distress. Be prudent in these temporal affairs, and seek counsel as you are able. Anxiety, as you have proved, does not comfort and does not bring any good with it. Indeed the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Cast therefore your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Like Nehemiah, when his countenance was sad because the city of his fathers lay waste, you may in a brief and silent prayer in any moment, even between one word and another before those in authority, seek guidance from God as to how to answer and how to act. That spirit of prayer is a plentiful mother, and many times in a day you may speak with the Lord.

Concerning guidance, remember that to take God for your Guide is to bow with submission to His will, and by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. He guides by great principles infused in the heart, among them to avoid everything that is evil and to do that which is right and peaceable before Him. Haste is the author of much mischief in human life, so do not be driven to a hasty choice. Take time to be still before the Lord. Consider first the duties of love and necessity, the day of burial and the gathering of your family, and the time needed for your heart to mourn before God. Speak plainly and early with those set over you at work, and if there is a godly pastor or a wise and trusted friend near you, seek his counsel also. The Lord who guided David when he was but a shepherd boy will guide you still, and will afterward receive you to glory as you trust Him step by step.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will draw near to you in this hour of bereavement, that He will comfort you with the hope of His resurrection, that He will ease the stress that troubles your body and give you rest and sleep, that He will show you clearly which combination of days to set apart for mourning and for necessary affairs, that He will give you favor and protection where you suffer mobbing, and that He will keep you from anxious fretting and lead you in a plain path. May He who has promised to be a Father to the fatherless and a very present help in trouble, be your strength and your portion now and in the days to come.

Praying for you - I am sorry about your mother’s passing. Praying that our Lord will comfort you, giving you peace and strength throughout the many days ahead.
Prayers in the name of Jesus.
