Beloved Servant
Father, I'd like what Jesus said to be my prayer, "I don’t speak on My own authority. The Father who sent Me commands me what to say and how to say it," John 12:49 [1]. Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is the right word at the right time, Prov 25:11

I forgive and pray for her salvation, Rom 10:1, but after years, am hearing counsel and sensing You are shifting gears, 1 Cor 7:15, Isa 42:9, and ask for wisdom in all that, James 1:5, Col 1:9, Col 4:12, Phil 1:9-10. Without confession, repentance, and conversion, we can only go so far -- ā€œ'Truly I tell you,' He said, 'unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven,'" Matt 18:3. It's evident there is no fruit for You and she's "broke the yoke and burst the bond," Jer 5:5...

It was while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, Acts 13:2 -- please help me hunger and thirst for righteousness in these situation, and help others share this burden with me for her, me, our child, the entire situation and all that’s transpired, good, bad and ugly, to be turned for glory, praise and honor, Isa 58:6-14, turned together for good, Rom 8:28. Let us plead the cause of the widower, and defend the cause of real humans that by foolish abandonment was made to be orphaned, Jer 5:28, which if we can't visit the widower or orphan, James 1:27, we can at least pray for them...

Please grant powerful grace and strength within me, grant grace to humble my soul with fasting, to control the tongue while speaking truth, sanctifying residual pockets of darkness with light, helping the word become flesh, as John says, John 1:14, to love You AND my NEIGHBOR (how much more my wife and children) with ALL my heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances -- my thoughts, words, deeds, actions and especially my reactions -- let the word be engrafted as explained by James 1:22-23.

I believe the remedy of being sinned against is praying for their salvation -- again nothing's been confessed and repented of... I plainly state for the record I forgive everyone everything, and done as much as I can to be at peace with everyone, Rom 12:18. Salvation is still needed, 2 Tim 2:3-4, repentance isn't optional, but having overlooked times of ignorance You are now commanding everyone everywhere to repent, having fixed a day of certain judgment with justice by The Man appointed, and furnished proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead, Acts 17:31-32, 2 Pet 3:9 -- but help me walk in LOVE, Eph 5:2, let me be "filled with GRACE and truth," John 1:14.

šŸ§ŽšŸ½ā€ā™‚ļøPlace and use the love of Jesus in me to publicly and privately demonstrate true love of the gospel, Gal 3:1. Let me model it and teach it to myself, ###, every family member, those near and dear and those far off and beyond to extended family, friends especially any who might consider me an enemy -- let me be a living ambassador Your love to be known and read by all people groups, everywhere, 2 Cor 3:2, ā€œWhat to say and how to say it,ā€ John 12:49 [1].

šŸ™‡šŸ» Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Sanctify us by the truth; Your Word is truth, John 17:17. Keep her, them and us from evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, temptation, Matt 6:13, sin Zeph 3:13 and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Thank you for the angels in advance -- they're real and really do get sent ahead, Heb 13, and thank You in advance for the fact "You like to make their faces change," in Jesus' Name.

[1] ā€œWhat to say and how to say it,ā€ John 12:49 — Historical Comments: What to say (ĪµĻŠĻ€Ļ‰) and how to say it (Ī»Ī±Ī»į½µĻƒĻ‰) -- (dicam) and (loquar), Latin Vulgate, are supposed to discriminate matter (content) and form (style of speech), as another commentator says, ā€œMy words and their manner and tone are all of them the outcome of the Father's (ἐντολὓ) command.

The word εἰπεῖν relates to the words as spoken successively; λέγειν refers to the sentiment and connection of the words.

The former relating to the SUBSTANCE, and the latter to the FORM of Jesus' utterances.

See we not that He brings His expressions with an excess of humility, that He may both win them over, and silence those who would look to persecute Him. This is why He utters words appropriate to humanity, that He may help us bridge the severity of the sayings, as being conscious that the words belong not to Him, but The Father, and are thus tailored, even suited to the weakness of the hearers.

We hear your heart’s cry, brother, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every word you’ve shared before the throne of grace. Your desire to speak only what the Father commands, as Christ did, is a holy aspiration, and we join you in seeking the wisdom and grace to walk in that truth. The Word declares, *"For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak"* (John 12:49). May your words be as apples of gold in settings of silver (Proverbs 25:11), seasoned with grace and truth, always reflecting the heart of the Father.

We recognize the deep pain and complexity of your situation—a marriage fractured by hardness of heart, a spouse who has walked away without repentance, and the weight of being unequally yoked in spirit. Scripture is clear: *"If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her. And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave him... But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace"* (1 Corinthians 7:12-15). The Lord is not blind to your faithfulness, nor is He indifferent to the abandonment you’ve endured. You have forgiven, prayed, and sought peace, yet the other party remains unrepentant. This is not a failure on your part but a reflection of the spiritual battle at hand.

We must address the reality that without repentance and faith in Christ, there can be no true reconciliation in the Lord. Jesus warned, *"Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven"* (Matthew 18:3). Your wife’s lack of fruit and rejection of the yoke of Christ (Jeremiah 5:5) is a matter of eternal consequence. We do not say this to condemn but to urge you to intercede with even greater fervor, while also seeking the Lord’s wisdom for your own path forward. The enemy would love to keep you bound in confusion, guilt, or bitterness, but Christ has set you free. *"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery"* (Galatians 5:1).

You are right to hunger for righteousness in this situation, and we join you in fasting and prayer, just as the early church did in Acts 13:2. The Lord promises, *"Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?"* (Isaiah 58:6). May your fasting break chains—not just for your wife’s salvation, but for your own deliverance from any residual pain, anger, or unforgiveness. Let it be a fast that humbles your soul, softens your heart, and aligns your will with the Father’s.

We also lift up your child, who has been made an orphan in the eyes of the world by this abandonment. The Lord is a father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5) and defends the cause of the widowed (Jeremiah 5:28). We pray that He would surround your child with His love, protection, and provision. May you be given supernatural strength to parent with grace, wisdom, and the love of Christ, even as you navigate this trial. *"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world"* (James 1:27). Even if you cannot physically "visit" the orphaned heart of your child in the way you’d like, your prayers and godly example are powerful before the Lord.

You have asked for grace to control your tongue, to speak truth in love, and to let the Word become flesh in you. This is a battle worth fighting, for *"the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness"* (James 3:6). But Christ has given you His Spirit to tame it. We pray that every word you speak—whether to your child, your extended family, or even your wife—would be seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6) and filled with the fragrance of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:15). May your life be a living epistle, known and read by all (2 Corinthians 3:2), so that even those who oppose you might see the love of Jesus in you.

We must also address the reality that salvation is not optional. You have forgiven, but forgiveness does not negate the need for repentance. *"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). Your wife’s salvation is in the Lord’s hands, but you are called to pray, to witness, and to live out the gospel before her. If she remains unrepentant, the Lord will judge justly (Acts 17:31). In the meantime, we pray that you would walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us (Ephesians 5:2), and that you would be filled with grace and truth (John 1:14).

You have asked that the love of Jesus be demonstrated through you—publicly and privately. This is the heart of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). May you be a living ambassador of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), showing the world what it means to love God and neighbor with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30-31). Let your life preach louder than your words, and may your reactions—even in the face of provocation—reflect the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Finally, we pray for protection over you and your family. *"I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one"* (John 17:15). Sanctify them by Your truth, Lord, for Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Guard their hearts from bitterness, their minds from deception, and their spirits from the schemes of the enemy. Send Your angels to encamp around them (Psalm 34:7), and let Your face shine upon them (Numbers 6:25). May the Lord make His face to change—bringing conviction to the unrepentant, comfort to the brokenhearted, and peace to the weary.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of faith in Your goodness and sovereignty. We lift up our brother who has poured out his soul before You, seeking to walk in Your ways and speak only what You command. Lord, fill him with Your Spirit afresh, that his words would be gracious, his actions would be holy, and his heart would be steadfast in You.

Father, we ask for Your intervention in his marriage. Where there is hardness of heart, soften it. Where there is rebellion, bring conviction. Where there is sin, grant repentance. But Lord, if reconciliation is not Your will, give him the strength to walk in peace and freedom. Break every chain of guilt, shame, or false responsibility that the enemy would use to bind him. Let him know that he is not bound to an unbeliever who walks away (1 Corinthians 7:15), and that Your grace is sufficient for him (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We pray for his child, Lord. Comfort them in their confusion and abandonment. Be their Father, their Protector, and their Provider. Give our brother wisdom to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), and let Your love be made manifest in their home.

Lord, we ask for a spirit of fasting and prayer to fall upon Your people, that we might loose the bonds of wickedness and undo the heavy burdens (Isaiah 58:6). Teach us to hunger and thirst for righteousness, and fill us with Your grace to walk in love, even toward those who have wronged us.

Protect this family from the evil one, Lord. Sanctify them by Your truth, and let Your angels guard them in all their ways. May Your face shine upon them, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). For it is by His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His Spirit that we cry, "Abba, Father." Thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
