What prevent us from being happy?

If your eyes are on this world and everything that is in it, then you will be so unhappy and unfulfilled.

Two things prevent anyone of us from being happy and joyful in the Lord.
One. Living in the past.
Two. Observing others what they do or say.

Set your eyes on Jesus. Follow His example. Love others. Forgive them when they hurt you. Follow the Lord all the way to heaven.
Do not set your hopes in the past or on others. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.
Live a life that pleases the Lord and love others just as Jesus loves you.

In my case, it's negative circumstances, things going the opposite of my preferences, that make me unhappy and frustrated. After all, I'm not a masochist.

Life's circumstances can make a person bitter, but the Lord can help heal a sad heart from that. It's a given that life wasn't meant to be easy. We just have to learn to take the bad with the good and deal with it the best we can.

Jesus will deliver us from all unhappy situations we find in life. Yes, there are obstacles coming our way and people sometimes make our life so burdensome. Cast all your cares upon the Lord.... He will take away all bitterness and unhappy situations in your life.

Unhappiness comes to us when we do not obey God's word. When we do not attend church and do not pray for our unsaved friends and loved ones. Jesus loves those who read, hear and obey His word. He will send happiness to your troubled heart when you start obeying what He says.
