I just wanted to know what everyone's definition of love is, how does it behave and how

to recognize it.

1 Corinthians 13 is the place I start. You can go to Biblegateway.com and read it in lots of different translations.

Love is really what you define it to be. There's spiritual love, romantic love, interpersonal love, and many more. Sometimes you really don't have to define it, you just have to live it. I pray that you have a love in your heart for God and will nurture it every day by reading his word, practicing kindness and praying. What do you think love is ?

I thought I replyed to this one sorry I am in full agreement PrayzOn, with that we look to 1 Corinthaians to read what love is. Our greatest example of Love is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loves us. Each of us individually, in the filth of our sin that he gave his life for us. He asked for nothing from us. I don't know about most of you but I am very unworthy of that love. I have not been good or kind and have broken just about all the comandments. I am rude and ugly sometimes.Yet he continues to reach out to me and forgive me and love me. That is love. The only thing on earth I can compare that to is the love a mother (cause thats what I am) feels for her child. I don't care they are brats sometimes, I don't mind if they get sick on me or poo on me, break all my things. Even at their worst I love them more then I have words to express. Knowing that I do not even have the ability to love one ounce as much as God, I am constantly amazed by his love, He gave his Son, his precious little boy for me? That is love, that is the greatest love.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up. Love does not behave rudely, does not seek it's own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. As everyone said, 1st Corinthians chapter 13 is a great way to look at love for it's the word of God describing Love. There's no better way to describe it.

I can not add to these comments but I can stand behind them and agree with them. The Lord gave us I Corinthians 13:13 "So these three things continue forever: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love. All else will end at some point but these will go on for eternity. Isn't it exciting to know that love lasts forever!

I hope you find the answer you are seeking. May God's perfect love wash over you. Amen
