What causes fascination with the occult?

Ok, we know the deal with the occult.Demon spirits mislead people into thinking they're "helpful", like a deceased loved one . A "familiar spirit" the Bible calls it.because so many of my own relatives, and others I've heard, have had a spouse die , when something breaks for them, instead of giving God the glory, right away they say, "I KNOW{Meaning, they believe because it makes them feel better}the {fill in dead persons name}was helping me. Let there be an electrical short, the lights flicker on and off, and here it comes--"he{the husband was "visiting" me}so pagan. So blasphemous. So niave to the devils lies.I deal with this more than a lot of others, because my mother, for years and right up to this day, is absolutely obsessed with these things, and gets all excited when even hearing about it.Of course, my sister, having grown up hearing this, blindly followed. Now i'm not talking about believing in it per se, but those who are really fascinated ,and obsessed I'm trying to figure out the psychology behind it.Because even before I became saved, it never really was so turned on by it.And there are unsaved people who don't believe in it,although as time goes on it seems more unsaved people do.So wisdom, those who are obsessed by it,what is the motivation behind it?A spiritual sickness?Because maybe if I understood better, I'd know what I'm dealing with. And how to deal with it.

Lol, many are called, few are chosen, right? I personally don't think that drinking coffee is a sin and I wouldn't judge anyone who enjoys a cup of coffee but I see your point.
No not a question of I think it's a sin, it's just I'm making a point ,that most people are of the same mind, and so many of them do a certain thing that when I don't do it, I start thinking I'm the only one who doesn't.

Just try not to puff yourself up. You are not the only one that doesn't drink coffee :)
