What causes fascination with the occult?

Ok, we know the deal with the occult.Demon spirits mislead people into thinking they're "helpful", like a deceased loved one . A "familiar spirit" the Bible calls it.because so many of my own relatives,and others I've heard,have had a spouse die , when something breaks for them, instead of giving God the glory, right away they say, "I KNOW{Meaning, they believe because it makes them feel better}the {fill in dead persons name}was helping me. Let there be an electrical short, the lights flicker on and off, and here it comes--"he{the husband was "visiting" me}so pagan. So blasphemous.So niave to the devils lies.I deal with this more than a lot of others, because my mother, for years and right up to this day, is absolutely obsessed with these things, and gets all excited when even hearing about it.Of course, my sister, having grown up hearing this, blindly followed. Now i'm not talking about believing in it per se, but those who are really fascinated ,and obsessed I'm trying to figure out the psychology behind it.Because even before I became saved, it never really was so turned on by it.And there are unsaved people who don't believe in it,although as time goes on it seems more unsaved people do.So wisdom, those who are obsessed by it,what is the motivation behind it?A spiritual sickness?Because maybe if I understood better, I'd know what I'm dealing with.And how to deal with it.

Bottom line is that you can count something as joy and still not be happy about it Steven. The words have different meanings, different understandings Steven. It's a real shame that you would rather have word play than learn how to save your mom and your sister Steven. Did you actually read everything I posted or did you only read what you wanted so that you could have word play?
Always a lecture.But the Bible says there is a time for mourning. "A time to laugh, a time to cry".Weeping endureth for a night, but joy comes in the morning."Rejoice with those who rejoice,mourn with those who mourn."That's just as much in the Bible as count it all joy.There are times when being joyful would be out of context. Like if you go to the funeral of an unsaved friend,and if they died unsaved you know they're in Hell, and the others are mourning, ,now everyone is mourning there, and here Brother James starts waving a tambourine and dancing up the aisle,all smiles. Wouldn't that be out of context?

Good to know where your head is at.

I might not even go Steven. I might actually let the dead bury the dead, following Jesus and not even go. See how much you know by your thinking Sreven? I might share Jesus with who invited me :)

However, I can still count it as joy and mourn at the same time if for some reason I did go Steven.

Some of the things that you think of others is just flat out wrong Steven. I happen to be a mechanic so I can re build my own engine if I really needed to or I could buy a motor and swap it out cheap enough. So your 4000 dollar motor idea doesn't work on me. Go ahead and think what you want but just know that your thoughts are at enmity against God/Jesus so 99 times out of 100 you are probably wrong Steven. That is one of the reasons why I accept what Jesus says and I take no thought for my life. You do realize that accepting Jesus is also accepting what He says, right?

Yeah it only applies to me. No one else. Singling me out.

Stay away from the occult and sorceries. Satan wants us all to be depressed and full of hate and anger. Do not let satan in your heart, or in your your house. Cast him out in the name of Jesus. The, he will flee from you.

And the question to end all questions...…"There's an exception to everything". Many times I've seen so much of one side of something that I doubt the other side exists. But, to be honest,in rare instances, I DO see an exception. But there's one thing I'm doubtful about,...since you disagree with EVERYTHING I say,question--let's say I post something you agree with,or even change my thinking to what you say--listen closely, would you ADMIT YOU AGREE WITH ME,OR WOULD YOU LET YOUR PERSONAL FEELINGS TOWARDS ME GET IN THE WAY<AND YOU WOULD DISAGREE WITH ME JUST BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN FEELINGS TOWARDS ME? Can you be neutral when it comes to me?If you thought I was right, could you bring yourself to admit it? That's the question YOU should look at.And only you know the answer to that, Mr.Happy Go Lucky.

I was looking at this statement that you made again and I was wondering or contemplating about what you stated about doubting. No worries, I used to have situations where I doubted, wondered if God/Jesus heard me and how He heard me when I prayed but I am among those now whom God/Jesus has revealed Himself to so there is absolutely no doubt left in me, Thank You Lord Jesus! When you have doubts especially about God/Jesus just speak; doubt leave me in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

I actually used to listen to the Word of God/Jesus on cassette tape KJV at home, all day even while driving or delivering pizzas, along with reading the Bible. I just couldn't get enough of Jesus. I don't like to brag but I really don't know how many times I have read the Bible or listened through and through but I enjoy knowing Jesus better than I know myself now buddy. I have actually been treasure hunting and I searched for God/Jesus as if I was treasure hunting and during that process I found Him or better yet He revealed Himself to me. Always be at peace when I share with you for I mean you no harm Steven. It is after all Jesus who tells us to share Him with others, correct them as best as we can and even rebuke but it is nothing personal, it is just a part of Growth in Christ my friend :)

1}What makes it seem personal is that I've seen others post "negative" things,and you give your usual form reply and move on. You don't seem to give them the same "scolding" as me.2} The doubt thing,I mean in general, like if I see so much of one thing{because I believe people are "copycats"}I start to wonder if the other side exists, or I'm the only one doing otherwise. Like, look how much yoga has caught on,everytime I hear someone asking someone what they're into, like a foregone conclusion,they blurt out, they take yoga classes. Drinking coffee, do you know anyone who doesn't guzzle down several cups of coffee per day? I don't.Or anything......in other words, I see so much of one thing, that I start doubting that there are any exceptions [other than me.}

Lol, many are called, few are chosen, right? I personally don't think that drinking coffee is a sin and I wouldn't judge anyone who enjoys a cup of coffee but I see your point.
