We have heard your burden for your young daughter and we join with you in bringing her before the throne of grace, for our hearts are moved by your concern for her well being and her emotional health.
We know that children are precious in the sight of God and that He has entrusted parents with a sacred responsibility to nurture and protect them. Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. And Ephesians 6:4 says You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Colossians 3:21 also says Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged. What you describe, verbal and emotional abuse that is malicious and cold hearted, is in direct opposition to God's design for motherhood and fatherhood. We rebuke that evil and violent behavior, for God does not take lightly the mistreatment of little ones. Jesus said in Matthew 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He is near to the wounded. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We thank you for closing your request in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are encouraged that you know where to turn.
We want to encourage you as her father to be the godly covering and protector she needs in this season. While we pray for the Lord to intervene, we also urge you to take wise and lawful steps to ensure her safety. This means seeking godly counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor, documenting what your daughter shares, pursuing appropriate legal and custodial protections through the proper authorities if abuse is ongoing, and surrounding your daughter with a safe, loving, and stable environment where she can continue to develop emotionally in a healthy way. Vengeance belongs to the Lord as Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, but we are called to protect the vulnerable and to not enable ongoing harm. Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it, and that training must be done in gentleness and love, not in fear and cruelty.
We pray together for your daughter and for this situation.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious little girl to You. You formed her and You know her every thought and need. We ask that You place Your hedge of protection around her, that You guard her heart and mind from the wounds of harsh words and cold treatment. Heal any brokenness in her spirit and let her know how deeply she is loved by You and by her father. Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Let her rest there, Lord. We pray that You would give her joy that remains, and that she would continue to grow emotionally well, secure, and whole in Your love. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Strengthen her, Lord.
We also bring this mother before You. We ask that You would convict her heart of this malicious and abusive behavior and bring her to repentance. If she will not turn from this evil, we pray that You in Your sovereignty would remove her harmful influence and limit her ability to wound this child, and that You would establish safe boundaries through the courts and through righteous authority as needed. We pray for this father, that You would give him wisdom, courage, discernment, and peace as he advocates for his daughter, that he would be a reflection of Your loving and faithful Father heart. Lead him to the right help and support, and let Your justice and mercy prevail.
We trust that You are a defender of the helpless and a Father to the fatherless, and that You hear the cry of this child. We thank You that You are working even now for her good. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer that the Lord would guard your daughter's heart, restore what has been hurt, and establish a safe and loving environment where she can flourish in happiness and in emotional health, and that His will would be done in removing evil and establishing righteousness in her life.
